In an interview with ELLE, Melanie stated that "Soap" is about being vulnerable and being afraid to express deeper feelings such as love, so it feels like 'washing your mouth out with soap', a technique used in older days where adults used to wash with soap the mouth of a child who would say obscenities. The song specifically tells the story of Cry Baby struggling to tell her crush how she feels. She feels ashamed and vulnerable. She is afraid of saying "I love you", as she would be putting their relationship in an awkward position, as he'll have to either respond similarly or reject her advances. Either outcome will hurt, in the long run. The lyric, "threw a toaster in the bathtub" is a metaphor for the quick electric shock of change she made by saying what she said, and how this could kill their friendship.

I think it's notable that both in Soap and Training Wheels she's the only one undressed. She's the only one being vulnerable. In Soap she's trying not to say "i love you" because it'll scare him off and in Training Wheels she finally does.

"Training Wheels" is a love song that details Cry Baby in a relationship with her crush, Johnny, and her desire to move onto the next stage, which includes true commitment as well as sexual intimacy. "Training wheels" is a metaphor for her wanting to get serious and leave behind the boundaries that kept the relationship non-sexual, insisting that she can help relinquish his fear of commitment and vulnerability. He can call her out on her flaws, yet it proves he's invested in a way that implies they're ready to move things further.

Something that just dawned on me is that, even if you’re not able to do K-12 because it’s a full 2 hour film, you should be able to do the After School EP which is not at all from the Cry Baby Universe, but music about Melanie’s actual life experiences. Such as The Bakery which is about her having to work at a bakery at 17 to make money for her music.

From what I understand with Training Wheels, she is trying to take the relationship further but he hasn't been able to commit. She finally gets him to open up and teaches him how to be in a committed/ intimate relationship. However, he takes the information and skills (after removing the training wheels), leaves her, and starts seeing someone else, which is why he disappeared in the end on the bike.

Soap and Training Wheels are what got me into her music, but I really liked her even back when she was on The Voice. I know this is unrelated, but will you be doing more Ghost reactions? They even got a new single out that plays at the end credits of Rite Here Rite Now that's in the same 60's style as MOAC and KTGG, but I'm not sure if that should be saved until after you guys react to more of their discography or at least after Kiss the Go-Goat.
