All jokes aside….this repair shop is amazing. They got my modded xbox repaired and (and upgraded while there) back to me in great working order! Highly recommended repair shop! I would use again for sure!

Before watching fully, I'm guessing trace rot. Likely an earlier revision, like a 1.0. Edit: so it was a v1.1. I wouldn't rely on a visual inspection of the traces; I recommend testing with a multimeter. I like your method of repairing the corrosion. I'm going to steal that.

I stole the method from NorthRidgeFix, so I guess that's fair.

I am dissapointed, i was expecting a full excorsism on this console. Also what area do you work when you standard expect roaches in it. R.I.P for the spider, pouring one for that fallen homie. All jokes aside, always a pleasure to watch your video's als great sense of humor :)

It varies. I can usually tell by the outside of the console if it will have roaches inside of it. I've never had to open the console outside, but I imagine one day I'll come across one that I will. Thanks!

The little components you spent most of the video touching up have nothing to do with the eject and power buttons, they just support the clock cap and are completely unnecessary with the clock cap removed. The long traces along the bottom left edge of the console are almost always the reason for any strange behavior like this. Also, it's way easier to just bypass the traces than fixing every individual break on them.

That's entirely possible. I tend to rebuild as much as I can for the challenge, much like the trace rebuilding. ofc there are easier ways to restore the console back to an operational state.

Before watching i already know it’s trace corrosion

Yea, its a fairly common symptom seen with corroded traces. It would have been nice if that's all it was though.

Man, I left another comment on a different video about receiving my Xecuter xbox and just discovered it has trace rot. I’ve never soldered in my life but I feel like I have to give it a try. I don’t want to let this xlcd go to waste lol. How much do you charge for trace repairs if I end up chickening out? I only see a couple spots where it is messed up

It honestly depends on how bad the damage is. While I've shown the fine wire rebuild method there are a few guides on how to rebuild the traces with alternate points on the board. Send us some photos of the trace damage via our email in the description and we'll try to get you a price.

Did you even fix the Xbox? I think it might just have a bad BIOS chip. If this is the case, hardmodding should fix it.

No, it has error 07. I'll have to diagnose it and see what the fix is.
