Haunted Spots in Pulau Ubin, Kuda Kepang Trance, and other confessions

Bray Bray grew up in Pulau Ubin. His home was right in front of a muslim cemetery. Bray recounts the spots where he heard it was most haunted. He shares other confessions about a girl who got possessed on Mt Ophir (Gunung Ledang) and Old Changi Hospital.

Aaaahh Kuda Kepang brings me back lots of memories as a kid. As a kid, I thought Kuda Kepang was a cultural malay performance because of all the abangs that were performing at the time, and I think at around 2005 or 2006, there was a Kuda Kepang performance under my block. My parents forbid me to watch it (I was about 3 years old or 4 years old at the time) as the performance conjures djinns and possessions/trance-like behaviours. For all I know, the practice has been ruled out to be haram in Islam and is unrelated to the practice of Islam. Additionally, its been so long since I last encountered a Kuda Kepang performance. Nevertheless, I would love if the channel were to cover Kuda Kepang for educational purposes so as to not mix up cultural and religious beliefs! And to also provide more paranormal stories with regards to Kuda Kepang as that would be delightful to all supernatural buffs 👀

i went to OCH mortuary many years ago with frd without any touchlight at night, only realised it was a mortuary when i felt the metal bed in the middle of the room. Dont feel a thing in that room. However, had a very strong feeling when at the bottom of a stair leading to the attic. I just refused to go up when one of my frd wanted to go up.

He dont seems to agree kuda kepang is summoning of Jinn. Using kemenyan. In a trance. If its not Jinn, then what is it?

Yep. What's even the point of being able to recognise your family members when in such a deep trance I wonder. Quranic verses interweaving with mantra more often than not, is an unhealthy concoction. There is no syariah law underpinning for puasa mutih, and was never sanctioned by prophet Muhammad pbuh. Not cannot do, but way better to do the other puasa like sunnah. Wallahu a'lam

I'm am very curious about the initiation process to kuda kepang. How are they selected and what exactly the process looks like. Are there guidelines as to who can be initiated into the circle or is anyone free to join as long as they can adhere to the strict discipline required of them. What are they taught and what race of djinn is actually summoned into the body and how the teachers/leaders know if the correct entity inhabits the body or, if there have been instances where unfavourable events have occurred. If he is agreeable, perhaps you can invite him for a longer sharing, if he is allowed to.

Actually in Buddhist and Taoist practises, the same apply. During her period, a lady shouldn’t enter a place or worship, nor visit graves or columbarium. Also advised not to attend funeral wakes or weddings (by right, but I know most ignored this) Most older folks tend to brush it off as saying it’s a time of impurity. Lesser is said that the blood tend to attract the beings for another realm…
