That is a Cool story. Back in 1970 we had the story of the WAWA Monster. Across the street from the Franklin Mint kids would park the car and kiss the girl and the WAWA Monster would show up and spoil the mood. Funny. I never found him.

I saw this bridge in fall 1970. I never knew that story. They didn't tell me because I was pregnant.

This one gives me the willies.

there are two covered bridges near my place. iirc columbia county has the most covered bridges still in use in pennsylvania.

I hated driving across the Rupert one. I always got the heebie jeebies.

Great location and history , your right they don't build anything like that anymore awesome craftsmanship , just SUBD your channel I'm a History Buff and have the same passion for these places you go and all the stories and legends are cool too. I'm in Indiana by Ft wayne , I have some mobility issues so watching you is exactly what I would do ADVENTURE, but I've always wanted to see Pennsylvania and Civil War sites , go to caves , when I was working I went to gravel pits , mines going underground in active mining sites and to see the older mines n pits the difference in technologies and the times really cool to see , I from an early age did what you do but I at least get to travel with you when I watch , so keep it up Brother 👌 , and from some of your videos all I can sum up is the past is the past and you do what you love , and whatever and whomever caused you greif or pain the hell with all that , SALLY FORTH AND PRESS ON 👍 , I'm 47 and I had my life altering change 15 years ago with 2 back surgeries that didn't solve the problem and then find autoimmune bomb go off in me causing severe arthritis and Chrons disease and o to other stuff , I'm not looking for sympathy or anything else just to maybe motivate , encourage you some cuz Crap happens Brother , I'm on disability so I can't support $ but I can Sub n share and comment , you seem a great person and adventurer so I will stop Wafflin On , as I said I am just sharing my story to motivate not crying on shoulders or looking for sympathy hope it helps , I have a few channels that would be up your alley check em out IKS ADVENTURES with Ian n Chris and WW2 HISTORY HUNTER , just like your channel and pretty sure you will like em , just call me Tim or Snowman and I am binge watching the older stuff and waiting for the new, no I'm not a NUTTAA or a Weirdo lolololol just a regular guy LIVING THE DREAM LOLOLOLOL 🤣🤣🤣 Take Care FOLK till the next LATERS

I agree. Cliff's presentations are awesome. He has a great attitude and packs a lot of information and thought into what he does. There are so many beautiful hikes and historical sites. I'm so glad I found his site and by looking through the comments sometimes I learn interesting information about that particular video. Take care!

It's like the "Burkholder" Covered Bridge in Somerset County Pa.

We have a mountain house in, Sullivan county. There is a covered bridge in, Forksville that you can still drive over.

There are, at least to my knowledge, only 5 Covered Bridges left in Berks County, sad really. I absolutely love these.

That is a beautiful area, I get off that exit from 78 to go drive the steam engine at bear rock junction in new Tripoli some weekends, but I always head north and never knew this was there!

As you can probably tell by my little photo, I'm a covered bridge buff. As far as I know, the name of this bridge is pronounced "Dry Bell Bis". At 185ft and a single span (no center pier), it is actually one of the longest covered bridges extant in PA. Most of them are still opened to traffic. Lancaster, my home County with at least 27, has the most followed by Columbia County. I'm told this bridge is presently undergoing a rehabilitation.

I swear every covered bridge story involves someone being headless! There was a bridge here in Erie County, PA called the Gudgeonville bridge (some stupid teens burned it down I think in the 90's) that definitely included a headless man. Either way, it had some interesting history, you should google it, it was in Girard Township.

There's less than 200 covered bridges in Pennsylvania there used to be a thousand of them or more if I remember correctly from reading my history

If they put snow on the bridge then his head wouldn’t roll following him. It might roll a little in the snow a little but that’s about it. But I wouldn’t doubt that the rest of the story happened

It's amazing how no one has ever seen a headless horseman, but believe in fairy tails,, Doesn't look haunted to me,,

At least this Covered Bridge has not been burned down like the covered bridge in Daleville which is outside of Shermans Dale Pennsylvania my friends Campground is right down the road from it what Covered Bridge

Bro, mad Respect & love ur travels and video. Look here's a couple things people not from PA gotta remember; 1)There is a legend here in PA for every 10 people.... But 98% of them are BS. No disrespect to anyone but every lie has some kind of truth. I can say they are always a good listen and very enjoyable. 2) legends are BS but their are alot of truely haunted house,and buildings, a couple graveyards. Yes Know know, what,wait u just said.... SSSHHH, don't make it complicated) 3)PA,The hole State is 1 BIG HOT BED OF PARANORMAL down to earth, real, alive'ISH!!! ...BUT the funny things is, It's the legends That rarely if at all hold any paranormal SHIT. It's like all the ghosts, spirits skip or leave out the legendary spooky areas\spots. Look,I don't make the rules,I've just been here for 38 years and when we where kids, teens and young adults alot of us travelled all over PA, checked out the( I DARE U too spots)where legends where born & carries on to present day or some fade just magically away,Altoona PA,has a couple legends. Funny about them, is they have a good story and some half truth, but,.. Lol lolol.. Story's with the right People wrong history, wrong set of events,. Now, I have no clue why tha hell tha hole State is a power house for past lives, why only give or take 10 legends out Of 100 are real, very close with no additives and u may get lucky and see 1 or 2 ghost.,got no clue why it's like every other 3rd house or some crap like that is haunted,but make NO Mistakes about it,that shit is true, in my life its been close to half of all tha homes\house\Trailer,or Model home that had some activities, clear to full blown looks solid but u can Barely see through them. And still do,last Apartment was haunted turned on water,u could watch little balls, orbs glowing coming up tha hallway or playing with tha car. On my ghost stories. COM I have pictures up go check them out. And tha new house Imam in now.... LMFAO,first night it was on, and u shoulda see my CCTV cameras and tha amount of odds what are big as my kids head while he sleeps, gos down touch him, makes him jump up like a bat outta hell and look around in his room scared then he hits tha lights at full speed. While tha or after touching him made a sharp right and around him it went. My daughters room is tha same way. U can feel them here, so packed and tight... Look it's real, anyone whom lives in PA get to know me and I'll let u come here and look. I've been a sensitive since birth 1 old lady pretty much is down stairs she stand in tha corner at night and watches us. And u can see her black out line, she ain't mean, but there's a dude here he... Hard to explain.... Just get at me. That's great that you always ask permission to park somewhere like you did there. I don't think we have any covered bridges here in Australia. If anybody knows of any, I'd like to know about it. I guess it's because we don't get much snow ??? Plenty of ghost stories though :-)
