Haunted Mansion Endless Hallway DIY

Hello Foolish Mortals!! Want to see how I created my Haunted Mansion Endless Hallway - Corridor of Doors? Great, check out this vlog showing some photos and video clips for the steps I took to create this full sized set scene. I tried to be as thrifty as possible. It took about 90 days, just in time for my Halloween party last year. I finished the following/staring statue busts in just a few hours before the party, whew!!
Our Endless Hallway stays up all year in our basement. Yes, it is dreamy to walk through. Later I will add a mirror and a scrim too. Most of the doors were painted on drop cloths and hung on the wall. Some of the doors are real and were simply painted in the HM style.
The triangle door toppers were made of foam and I used timed flickering LED candle tea lights in them so I don't have to turn the lights on and off every day, plus it's fire safe. I hope to add other scary touches that Imagineer Marc Davis has in mind for the hallway scares. Most of the door knockers came from Disneyland's 50th merchandise in 2019, for approximately $25.00 each but they sound like a sick dog and I had to cut the speaker wires in them. There was no clang sound in these. The mechanics of them are also very loud. I used electrical tape to block the green lights that appear each time the knocker sensed movement. It just didn't look proper. Feel free to ask me any questions.

I am renting a house and I have collected some vintage antique furniture. A purple velvet couch. things I have collected are amazing from Goodwill and Facebook Marketplace. I work for church rummage sale this weekend and I bought an 1885 pump Organ omg is amazing and works . Your work is so cool . I bought at Goodwill during Halloween I'm a box that you plug your lamps in period when you turn the radio on the lamps will flicker and the little box will have lightning sounds. You can buy them I'm sure on eBay or Amazon. If you have a chandelier that you want to Flicker and you want thunder and lightning sounds this box is amazing

This. Is. Ah. Maze. Ing. I want to actually do a haunted mansion theme walkthrough kinda thing in my front yard this year for trick or treaters and this just blew my ideas out of the water! We've been creating a haunted yard for our community for over 40 years now and (hopefully) are planning to do a Haunted Mansion theme this year. Do you have a more detailed tutorial on how to make the knocking door? Or any suggestions on how to make the shaking door effect? Thank you again for this great video! Happy Haunting!

Matrix Mom Oh thank you for your sweet compliment!! I’m working on the bar build vlog right now. I hung the canvas up by just using nails, I didn’t end up taking off that blue tape on the edges as it all gets covered with the trim. Have a great day 👍

This is absolutely amazing! I just have one question for you. How did you build the animatronic door knocker mechanism? I really want to do a project like that for Halloween and have found barely any information on it.

tony stark I bought the busts on ebay $65.00 for both. They are vacuum formed. I just used cheap insulation foam to create the other wood look frame and the inner cut out is Dollar Store craft foam cut out with a small razor. I hope that helps. I don’t have a video of me making it, I had only hours to make it before my party. 👍👍👍
What were the cobwebs made out of? This was a really cool DIY to watch.

Wayne Hutchens You can buy that stretching cob web stuff from Spirit Halloween, they actually sell that color which looks a lot more accurate than the bag of white they sell. It’s about 7 dollars a bag. I used 1 bag in the entire hallway and spent over 8 hours “stretching” it. 👍👍

Julio Gulio Just saw your question friend. Those are easy to find, check Home Depot, Lowe’s or online for chandelier flickering bulbs. I want to eventually get LED flickering but they are pricey so far. 👍👍👍
Where did you get the molds you used for the handles?

matt sakevitz I made it our haunt group called “CalHaunts” class in one of our Make & Takes. See “Reynolds Advanced Materials” for help. They are SO expert on silicone resin mold making. They are on KZread. Thanks for asking 👍👍
