Haunted Chocolatier (Stardew Valley ConcernedApe's NEW Game) - What Is It?

Haunted Chocolatier from Stardew Valley creator ConcernedApe (Eric Barone) is a new Action RPG with pixel art graphics currently in development for PC, hopefulling coming to Switch. This won't be a farming game, but you'll still be in a new town with townsfolk to meet, slimes to defeat, and tasks to complete as you make your way through the adventure. The game is still in the early stages of development though so don't expect a Haunted Chocolatier release date any time soon! Looks like interior decorating is getting a facelift, and I'm sure there are plenty of other surprises and quality-of-life improvements Eric Barone has learned from a decade of working on Stardew Valley, the farm sim! His first game was very much influenced by Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons, so it's nice to see him doing something a little more creative and imaginative. Expect lots of inventory management and combat in this game, with lots of materials to collect. Some will think of Moonlighter when they hear about how your main character works at a chocolate shop and has to cook and sell products, but this early in development, anything can happen.
Time eludes me. I meant *2023 is the earliest we would see a release. Wow time flies.

True the trailer just passed a million views on KZread after being up for a day! Stardew is a huge success for sure and the bar is set super high! But he knows how to take care of the gamers so I trust it!

@@switchunboxing I agree, I'm really happy that he gets the credit and attention as the big companies. Stardew is one of the few games I've stayed engaged with since its release and honestly I don't see that changing.

@@nemA96 I’m really wanting to get back into it. Any tips on getting back in? When it first came out I played it non stop every day. I feel like maybe once I got so many crops and jam machines I got overwhelmed. Maybe I just remove some n

@@switchunboxing I actually have like 3 different sessions I go back and forth with one where I focus on ranching, fishing and mining. One where I do more farming and one that I play with my son and we just mess around he's only 5 so we don't usually have a direction just have fun and game together.

Thanks for watching! Yeah I trust him to make a good game especially since he wasn’t too quick to spill the beans. Seems like he’s got a level head and we know he looks out for the player. That’s the key to success

I'll suppose it's a wise move to first make the game stable in singleplayer before thinking about multiplayer, I personally hope for co-op multiplayer. As the game supposedly shares the game engine with Stardew Valley, maybe implementing the multiplayer functionality wouldn't be that big of a task later on. Stardew Valley is magical in multiplayer, it's nice to have co-op games where you can chill out and let the time flow with a friend. My guess is that this might be a slightly less ambitious game than Stardew Valley, but your guess is as good as mine I suppose.

I would imagine this game will be more ambitious!!!! It’s in such early stages right now. I keep hearing multiplayer is the way to go in Stardew Ive just never tried it!! As I understand it was created by a different team so that wouldn’t be up to him. He might get the same help with multiplayer afterwards Idk. Cant blame him for thinking of the single player first. Love it!

You probably have no idea how hard it is to turn a singleplayer game into a multiplayer one 😩 To do so, you have to manually code every little item and mechanic to make sure that every player sees the same thing and that for all players every action turns out the same way as intended including weather systems, npc stuff, quest completions, events

The only platform it’s for sure coming to is PC but it’s so early in development. I’d imagine it’ll come to as many platforms as possible.
