My mom passed away several years ago. My dad passed away in the hospital, three years ago, leaving me as the sole survivor of the family. Since he passed in the hospital, I was required to identify the body at the funeral home, prior to cremation, which I recall being days after he died. I got to witness the usage of those preservative chemicals and skin tones, and what I saw was not pretty. I was beside my dad in the hospital when he died less than a week earlier, and this was only an "approximation" of my dad. His neck almost joined his chin to each shoulder blade. I just said "It's him" and I couldn't bear to look a second longer. Thinking about how he looked is still haunting to this day. I have to be honest, it takes a rare type of person to have the ability to dress up the dead for viewing, and still be able to sleep at night.

Stephen Forrester: No. But I was just relating an experience where the preservative chemicals and skin tones Dane filmed and commented about were used on a family member, and the results. And also the main point - the type of person who would be able to do this for a living,,, certainly NOT ME.

I can tell you step by step what each item is...normal for a funeral home, except it's a shame there was a fire. The van is a body removal van, and the embalming fluids, cosmetics, wigs, etc. are all found in a prep room. Great job. Looks like some funeral director got out of town fast!!!

I like your exploring because you don't show yourself on Camera a lot that means you are focused on the place instead of yourself , you are also respectful of the places so I subscribed, keep on Exploring safely...

If nothing else, the state archives might need them. I'd say drop 'em off with the archives or another funeral home, or perhaps a church. Even a police station, since that's personal information that could be used to fraud someone's surviving family...

Urbex Dane - As a family genealogist I would recommend that all those records be collected and turned over to the nearest genealogy society. Their information is invaluable to researchers. Thanks for this look into an abandoned building, I just cannot believe the owners just up and left everything there.

I once meandered an old abandoned house like this awhile back. You gotta be extra care about walking on the floors and staircases. You could easily fall through, get injured and not be found until who knows when?

You know, just for the pure history of it all. I could spend hours going through all those ledgers (especially the ones with the obit newspaper clippings). There must be a treasure trove of information in them, it's like a time machine shining a light to a long forgotten past to a different era altogether.

Its sad to see those ledgers left behind. They are the records of those who passed and a history of the funeral home.

This was so good. Loved the sound effects at the beginning. This was more creepy than a lot of Hollywood horror films I've seen. So many interesting shots. It makes you think too, about all the paperwork that people keep and it just ends up worthless on the floors.

You can tell that there’s people out on the street. I think a lot of the noises were coming from the people outside. There were a few though that were interesting.

Hey! I'm new to your channel but I wanted to let you know you are definitely my favourite urban explorer! You are so respectful and I love that you show as much as possible, and you go slow. I've always been fascinated with this stuff but I've only been to a few places myself. Love that you can make it easier! Dane this was so scary, I had to watch it twice. THAT PLACE WAS FREAKY!!! How in the hell can u go in there☠️😱? U know it's probably got a bunch of lost souls just waiting for someone like u! I would of shit myself!!! Every time u looked into a cubbyhole or crawl space I was imagining fricken ghosts looking 👁back at u. Oh & at 5:45 right after u said the mileage of van some girl screamed," we gotta get some help". U really did a great job loved the beginning with the music. I can't believe u continued after hearing the noise inside the place. I think u are the bravest explorer I've ever seen u are the coolest!

OMG!! Dane I love the beginning of the video, and of course the entire production, at the start you gave it a "Walking Dead" like intro and feeling to it, the camera effects were just like it, awesome work and you must of been nervous as hell, because that place is beyond creepy. What a creepy place.i love that though,and I'm pretty sure you were NOT alone there!!! Awesome find.

I can see there was a big fire there, from all the blackened walls, paint peeling from the heat & decay, the upper floor blackened under the window. The coffin, embalming fluids, tables, and funeral makeup, really added to the creepiness of the place

I love as you're going to the basement you get a couple of dust orbs & then the creepy laugh! Besides the van & the bumper pool table, you know the best thing there? That ironing board, they just don't make them like that anymore..you could practically use it for low scaffolding & it would carry your weight. As to the Xmas decorations, next to the toy ladder, I think the silver structure may have been part of an erector set. Toys were so boring then! Thanks for the tour of this mortuary. I went with a mortician for awhile, he lived on-site. This place could have looked even creepier & there are things I know about the processes I'll never share!

In older homes, the funeral crew for the next day stayed overnight to set-up and make final touches for the wake! Offices were also on the second floor. Paperwork in a FH was insane!

As soon as you said" Someone's here", you can see an orb very clear, also, when you looked into the basement for a second, there were orbs! Scary!! 😱

Interesting place. I think it's been abandoned a lot longer then 17 years. The kitchen and the bathroom, are 1920s/30s original Art Deco design. Most of the boxes and items are from the late 1960s and 1970s. The Mattel Man in Space Talking Command Console box is from 1968. I'm surprised that some of those books are dated to the early 1990s. Because by that time it must have just been used for storage. Either that or whoever lived there, never threw anything away, and never bought anything new.

+Max Zomboni You're probably right Max. Everything in the home was old. Personally I think the son bailed after his father passed. The most recent item I seen in there was a trophy from 1997. How old is the van?

The van could be anywhere from 1978 to 1988. It's hard for me to tell. But I think closer to 88 then 78, because of the big circle around the 55, on the dashboard. That was common mid to late 80s to get people to drive the 55 speed limit.

My guess would be mid 1970s 1/2 ton Ford Econoline... maybe later, my boss from the pro-sound company had one. Though that one looks a lot less beat up.

DUDE!!!!! AT 6:21 at the basement, look at the silver duct straight ahead against the wall...you'll see a figure on the left side of it....and the figure moves quickly to the left. Spine chilling!!!!!!

The wood is beautiful underneath all that paint … btw, your a brave soul … lol

5am? I swear I heard what I thought was kids playing when you were looking at the van. Definitely heard voices; but doubt it was kids that early. Awesome video, those bottles, especially the suntan makeup one, creeped me out. And the casket...😨
