Haulaway (CR&R in Colorado) - Garbage Truck

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

As you'll see, the truck that Haulaway dispatched for trash here was a one-of-a-kind Mack LE / Amrep Elliptical front loader! The Colorado offshoot of California-based CR&R never owned very many of these in the first place, nor has anybody else really. But on top of that, Haulaway removed the frontload bodies from almost all of these trucks and made them into Mcneilus rear loaders. So the opportunity to see one on route old school with a swamper riding on the "carry can" sure tickled my fancy. I added in some unused recycling footage at the end, so this double-whammy should really boost your spirits. Thanks for viewing and staying subscribed.

Wow love seeing Mack LE’s paired with front loaders! It seems CR&R has a dope fleet out there! Unique design with the tipper on the front of the carry can,I really enjoyed the vid and can’t wait to see more!

So I guess you still have that direct line to my brain, I've been binge watching manual resi carry cans all week. This is too trippy. I've come around to the resi front load concept after not really liking it for a long time. Caveats being 1.) it's run on an appropriate suburban route; they're really too unwieldly "for the city" 2.) Manual/mostly manual. Or I guess at least double tippers. Something to make sure there's an even spread of trash in the can without having to spread it around with your hands. I would put one curbside and one at the front biased toward the street side. Besides the practical reason of making the most use of a 2 man crew, the concept of riding the carry can, dig the fact that a SoCal style light and fast (and in many cases low in height) front loader is especially suited to the application regardless of where in the country you are, and dig the compatability of the setup with some sweet no door, high entry cab ( maybe a manual? :p ) action. The Mack is a treat. Never realized I took WM of Naples' fleet for granted till I moved and lost almost all exposure to real Macks, especially LEs. The grille is still ugly, but the sound is sublime. And it's not like they're running any different a powertrain than the MRs, must all be in the exhaust routing. And how we were talking about brake squeak? The LEU I ran on Thursday sounds almost as good as this one at times. 3:15 was spot on. Should age nicely.

Nice!!! Been wanting to see footage of this truck since pics were posted onto the Amrep Flickr page years ago. Sure wish this was a more common combo. Favorite cab and one of my favorite FL bodies paired up together. The layout of the carry can sure looks good. The truck sounded almost exactly like the old Mack Leach FLs that used to collect my house, so that sure was nostalgic. Good to see some haulers still use FLs for resi collection, I always love seeing that. Great video!

WMmaster626 thanks Aaron, WM has a bunch of LE-Wittke FLs with just carry cans running out here still, a couple of the independent haulers use mcneilus with carry cans as well but either for recycling or mostly carted routes. and of course most WM routes have carts as well, though not all. thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed this

Nice! Liked the way this turned out, especially with more of that rear load at the end. Glad you got this when you did because I'm pretty sure all of their front loaders are now rear loaders. Seems like haulaway is notorious for swapping out old bodies and keeping the same chassis which I think is pretty cool and definitely makes for some unique combos. Wonder why there were two of them on the front load? Only time I ever saw that was in some of their carted HOA's where they had to throw all of the toters by hand. That seemed to be the one downside of an otherwise efficient truck since they can't seem to get on the same page with universal cart designs like every other company out here lol. They wonder why other trash companies throw their cans away haha

Nice video! CR&R of Colorado has some awesome trucks! A Mack LE along with a Amrep goes great in CR&R colors. Weird how there was a WM cascade out there? What is up with their cart system? What other trucks are out there?

Francisco Campos Haulaway is more a sister company that does Rolloff and storage containers/conex bins, except the Colorado location does trash collection as well. this truck has always been used by Haulaway, never cr&r. thanks for commenting!
