He isn't lying though. I'm at the trailer park now and it looks worse than it did when he recorded this. The east side of Hattiesburg (including the downtown area) is HORRIBLE. But go to Midtown or out on the Westside🙄 they stay building and renovating shit out there😒 im from Palmers Crossing, in south Hattiesburg. Ive watched this city change so much these passed 27 years☹

This is... not the hood. It’s near the “hub” downtown where lots of events are carried out. Most Hattiesburgians are not afraid to drive where you are driving. Due to several recent storms, this is the aftermath.

They just got hood maybe 15-20 yrs ago. Edward St, Quarters, other side of Main street like Mobile St, MLK side, Palmers....ALWAYS been hood.

Baltimore may be worse overall to live, but this place what makes it clearly bad is the poverty. It is very evident from the video that virtually everyone is living in poverty or extreme poverty. Not a cent to fix the degrading buildings.

Next time u come to Hattiesburg hit me up cause I'm going to give you a REAL tour of the hood. Not early in the morning in the afternoon when its popping. You missed Francis St, Pine View, Robertson Place, Bonhomie, plantation place, Palmers and so much more.

Both areas, Mobile and Edwards, have been ravaged by weather. These places were proud places, and generational families have lived there. These are some nice folks that live in these houses, and the struggle is real, but they're beautiful people that live in Hattiesburg

Hey! I went to school in Hattiesburg back in the 60's. These places look better than some of the houses I lived in. I'll bet they have air conditioning, too.

What car do you drive?

I'm from Hattiesburg MS and I recognized every corner.

I find it so cool that most of these houses are historical.

Ima agree with most of the people here that these are not the worst hoods. I was born in Hattiesburg, and now live in Petal. I have family in Hattiesburg, Laurel, Columbia. There are definitely worse hoods than this one in Hattiesburg, my granny lives near that area, and it’s actually pretty quiet there.

What's the point? You're just driving around, no commentary and you're not stopping to talk to anyone.

I been going here for years...just cause some houses dont look up to some ppl standards dont mean its a bad place to live its how you carry your self i dont know nothing bout know hood just look like ppl homes...you can go to a neighborhood with nicer houses an a lot of crimes would you still call that a hood ????

They have held up pretty well esp after katrina and the last tornado that came thru. I have been living in and out of Hburg since college and it's not that bad compared to most major cities like Detroit and Chi-Raq but it's getting there...

I used to live on Ruby Ave right down from Dabbs St and off Martin Luther King St, which was pretty bad in the 90s

The house i used to live in is completely gone. It was in that empty space next to the red brick house.

I grew up in a low income black area outside of Washington DC and sadly my experience has been that businesses don't seem to want to set up in those kinds of areas. There were at least 3 liquor stores and a laundromat that I know of within a 2 mile radius, but no other stores or businesses. If there was a park or school, it's only because the government is required by law to build those in certain areas, otherwise they would not do it if they had a choice. I do know my mom was white and her parents lived in a better white suburb that was further out and there were a lot of stores and parks nearby. I can remember as a child spending the night at their house and not wanting to leave because it was so much better there and I didn't feel so afraid, and my brother and sister felt the same way. It's actually pretty sad.
