Something I personally find really intriguing is how in "it's not even human-like, hiding your real identity", the word for human (人間) is written in katakana ( ニンゲン). My personal theory for this is that the person in question is so far off from being human, that the word is being written in katakana, as katakana is used for foreign words - being human is foreign to them. It's some really cool wordplay imo.

yeah the theories are cool and all but i think this song is just the bad side of the internet and people arguing for no actual reason. Lots of ppl on here think that it’s a relationship problem or a therapist trying to help her, but honestly, I think she’s having an identity crisis where she’s trying to find who she is and what the meaning of life is. The razor in the background is showing how she thinks of herself. There are multiple people that are trying to help her but she refuses to listen to their “excuses”. In the video it keeps on saying “what do you mean with ‘precious’” people are trying to tell her that there is a meaning in life and that meaning is precious, but she keeps shutting them out.

A lot of people are saying the meaning is prostitution or self harm, but I have a different theory. She's fighting with a low-life 'idiot' on the internet. Someone making excuses, looking down on her, repeating herself over again but never getting through. She thinks she's better than him, calling him lame and thinking it's a sad waste. Saying he isn't human like, and he hides his identity. 'You're making a fuzz for a completely shaken off ideal, Mr. No-Name' could be said to an anonymous user. She even refers to him as a bot. He continues to be toxic (still be in pain) and Miku says 'close my eyes on this pleasant chat'. After the guitar solo, Miku admits failure to get through to the idiot, actually wanting to get through to him. Final chorus is her saying no, I'm done, this emotionless sandbag is no good, referring to his cries as an overflowing song. I'unno, try listening to it like that, because that's what I got out of it.

Actually, I've always thought this was about MARETU themselves. One day they uploaded a song, people begin to complain about it because it doesn't match up to their ideals, they get into a flame war, and MARETU gives up because the posters are too narrow minded to understand what they was trying to say in the first place. I believe the major piece of evidence in this is the fact that "and it became an overflowing song" is actually an incorrect translation. The correct translation is "and it became a boring song". This could mean that, since MARETU began losing fans making songs they truly wanted with their own special meanings, they ended up making a generic catchy-tune song with no real meaning in order to make everyone happy. However, this backfires on them because people still complain that it isn't fitting their ideals, so MARETU gives up all together and decides to make their songs their way.

So people in the comments are saying it has to do with a person on the internet or self harm, so I have a theory that sorta mixes the two. So she is online, chatting with an anonymous person/counselor. "Your excuses have started, they've started again." This could indicate that the person who she is chatting with is telling her why she shouldn't harm herself and she finds it useless. "What do you mean with "Precious"? The person is trying to tell her that her life is precious. "I close my eyes at the stuck clock's needle." She waiting or done waiting for the person to stop their excuses. "Mr. no-name" shows that the person is probably anonymous. Her referring to him as a bot shows that she's tired of him repeating the same excuses over and over again. "It seems emotionless, that voice of yours" makes it seems like she believes the person is only "helping" her for money or a job. They don't really care about her. "It seems I failed, as always." She has tried multiple ways to get help, but none of them worked. "I've given up at this point, goodbye future and tomorrow" shows that she's given up on trying to get help. ////////// So that's what I think it is about. Idk tho, that's what I got from it.

there’s a lot of different interpretations that i find interesting, but personally i feel like this song is about a woman who continues to be in a relationship with someone who cheats on her. maretu has a theme of making songs that featured unhealthy relationships and i think this is no different from that. she’s angry and frustrated at her lover for cheating on her, but she’s equally angry at herself for expecting him to change and giving him more chances. the razor dripping blood could be symbolic for how her lover cuts into her and makes her bleed, but she allows the blood to flow and never removes the razor that hurts her...

F E E L I N G chill I doubt that you can say there is “no meaning”. There is meaning behind most of his songs, you just have to think out of the box plus it’s open for interpretation

I’m pretty sure this song is about a depressed, self-harming girl arguing with a therapist about her depression and her suicidal thoughts (hence why the background image is a bloody razor blade). Every time the therapist shoots down her arguments, she gets more and more irritated with him because she’s most likely seen many other mental health professionals in the past and they all give the same reasonings. This is probably why she calls him no-name because she’s seen so many psychologists she doesn’t even bother remembering their names anymore. Closing her eyes at the stuck clock needle and closing her ears to this pleasant chat refers to her being in a therapist’s office, waiting for the appointment to finally be over. She probably so stuck in her self loathing and depression that she believes no one actually cares about her, including the professionals she sees, which explains the “hiding your real identity” and “your voice seems so emotionless”

If this song is about self harm then how come in project diva the song is beauty and the stage literally says Cabaret which is entertainment at a night club. My interpretations of this song are either A) Miku is a school girl and gets overflowed by work and so she self harms cuz of the stress and feels she's not good enough. Hey, I like your theories and I hope you don't mind if I add on to them. Well, I believe it could be about a person who is constantly pressured by society and puts on a new face to be popular and loved causing them to harm themselves because they know that no one loves the real them. To take into thought, the lyrics "It's not even human-like, hiding your real identity" when referring to themselves as not even human anymore since all they do is hide who they really are to the world. And even "What do you mean with 'precious'?" which could be referring to the people praising her fake self. The real fact being that she can't seem to do anything right and so she puts on the face of someone precious and perfect, "I failed again just like I always do." Even when they fail it's only them who takes it through to the extreme of "killing their breathe." I might not have the lyrics correct since I'm doing this on mobile and can't go back to the video while writing so, nice theories.

My interpretation of this song is that Miku is fighting a “low life” online that has a bad opinion on self harm. I think the argument is about sh because of the picture shown during the song, Miku saying that the guy is old fashioned and is “throwing this old fashioned body away” because she sick and tired of his crap, and Miku constantly saying that he’s emotionless and un human because of this negative opinion. Also, he’s looking down on Miku, calling her “precious”, and thinking she doesn’t understand and she’s pissed at that. He won’t listen to her either, and keeps going on and on about his horrible opinion. At the end of the song she is sick and tired of the guy, but he won’t stop, and the cries of him either wanting attention or wanting to keep enforcing his opinion are like an “overflowing song”, and the small hope for him left is “something small and is soaked in tears and is a stain” Also, the official project diva x translation is “some anonymous poster is making a fuss”

my theory is far away of what i've seen : i think it's about a girl who talk to her 'lame' about her problems. saying 'it's not even human-like, hiding your real identity ' adressing to the lame, since it's an object it's not human and doesn't have an identity ; even tho she still considering it as a 'friend'. 'i close my ears at this pleasant chat' still adressed to the lame, she appreciate chat with this object. when she say ''mr.name'' she's also talking about this lame, like i said ; it's an object, so it can't have a name too. 'something like a small hope is soaked in tears and becomes a stain' refering to her self-harming, crying and seeing blood. I love how for other producers the collab with other producers for the “Human zoo of hell” is just song that’s suppose to relate and connect with “Human zoo of hell” series. While for Maretu, due to how well the character fits Maretu as a whole, it’s very hard to tell this is a full on series (if you exclude the name.)

I made a theory for this song since i've been listening on repeat to it for three days: there is a girl who is always procrastinating and spending time playing games on her computer or commenting and whatever you do on the internet, while her subconsious is trying to tell her to wake up and live, for example when it says "It's not even human like, hiding your real identity" continuing to try to get her away and make her live like a normal human being, giving up in the end realizing that there is nothing that can be done for her anymore and the "precious" she speaks of could be the pleasure of doing nothing and feeling carefree, i like to think it this way because it makes me see myself in this song, i hope you like my theory :) P.S.Just realized this theory doesnt really fit this translation but the one on the wiki does more

this will always be my favorite MARETU song. idk why but I just like it so much. And in terms of lyrics, it’s one of the more.. ‘tame’ ones compared to something like Mind Brand or Magical Doctor.

My personal interpretation is that it's about Alexithymia.

honestly my loose interpretation of this song is miku talking to a person she looks down on like maybe someone who betrayed her. that’s why she’s so vehement to this person, because she used to have a deep relationship with them. of course this is just me projecting but that’s kind of the point

hello i'd like to share my interpretationi've connected this song with maretu's other recent works (note: this is just my interpretation, i have no idea of maretu intended to have them related or not), in the order scrumize, mind brand, disillusioned, packet hero, eraser girl, then brain revolution girl. (and yes, i know this is not the order that the songs were released, but like i said, this is just my interpretation) in scrumize, miku is dating an abusive boyfriend. she eventually finds the strength to break up with him, and sings of her resentment towards him in mind brand. because of the whole ordeal, her romantic feelings for anyone intimidate her. she falls in love with another person in disillusioned, but the fear lingers from her abusive relationship, and although she becomes friends with this person, she is unable to confess her romantic feelings. the friendship fades, and miku falls in love with gumi in packet hero. but she is very confused about what she wants to do, and whether gumi loves her back or not. her confusion causes her to break down and cry, but thankfully, she confesses to gumi and it works out. however, because this is a same-sex relationship, miku learns what homophobia feels like in eraser girl. gumi is driven to having suicidal thoughts, but miku, who is finally satisfied with her love life as well is deeply in love with gumi, is determined to not let her die. but she fails, as gumi attempts suicide at the end of the song. miku knows and attempts suicide with her. gumi dies, but miku survives and suffers from intense depression and mourning in this song (brain revolution girl, in case you forgot). now you can take it one of two ways. in this song, miku is either slowly driven to suicide, or is only alive because someone important to her (another lover, perhaps?) is attempting to show her that she has something to live for.
