Again, Are You Afraid of the Dark is definitely worth watching. It holds up a lot better than Goosebumps did. There are a few episodes that aren't great, but even those are a lot better than you might expect. Far more hits than misses for sure. Do yourselves a favor and watch the first season, then go from there.

nah they should watch either The Haunting Hour or Creeped Out. Children's horror has come a LONG way and both of the shows I mentioned (usually) don't have happy endings and can get quite dark

Great reaction, Jontron's reading of the line 'this rivals the tracking shot in Goodfellas.' cracks me up every time. It may not be Halloween, but to me September feels like the extended buildup to Halloween, seeing as it's the start of the Autumn season which is so integral to that Halloween atmosphere. Plus my brother and his girlfriend recently moved into a new place, on Elm Street, so as a housewarming gift I sent them the box set of those films, which further pushed my Halloween spirit into overdrive.

"Actions speak louder than turds." I'm gonna start using that. 😂

In part 1 he said you can't kill children on television, I'd argue the bully was killed.

Probably, but it's not onscreen and it's ambiguous what happened to him, so you can deflect. If you shoot a kid onscreen, or push him off a cliff, it's pretty obvious.

You guys should react to that AYAotD episode with the pool, “Tale of the Dead Man’s Float”. It really is the scariest one. Dunno strict Nickelodeon gets with their copyrights though.

Another one that I didn't know I was looking forward to.

i love this episode... and that line: "it's the most fun in the park, when you're laughin' in the dark" who among us wouldn't have fed the basement at least once after finding out it's real, as someone who had lots of bullies as a kid, well... less said the better

The monster in the pool episode was like burned into my memory because I used to do an after school program and some days we got to go swimming. 'Are you afraid of the dark' has some great, scary episodes..but it also has it's fair share of silly too. The Zeebo episode just sucked imo. Also, you reacted to Jon's 'Christmas with the cranks' video and I was wondering if you can you check out his other movie videos? Like "A talking cat!?" The title speaks for itself tbh.. He did one about the vanilla Ice movie "Cool as ice" which isn't cool at all. Then there's "Dark dungeons" which is based on a christian comic about the satanic dangers of D&D, but the people who made the movie are D&D players so they kind of fuck around and have fun with it. And my personal favorite from Jon, "Howling 2: Your sister is a werewolf" Featuring the late, great Sir Christopher Lee.
