Oh they sure are and to this day NO ONE has matched or improved on their unique style.

If Darkest Hour was a European band they’d have had several stadium headlining tours by now. America wasn’t ready for them, and even a decade into their career people were still catching up. American metalcore 🐐.

Saw em in 03 with Unearth and Lamb Of God in Providence. They put on one of the most memorable sets I've ever seen. They were all completely blackout drunk.

They're very much an American hardcore band tho. They just have a heavy European metal influence. But at their roots they're hardcore

I've seen hundreds of bands live now and when I saw them Worcester with Shadows Fall in 2021, they were fucking insane. Insane pits, crazy energy, just... IT. I saw Mike and Aaron in their van when I was leaving that gig at the Palladium but didn't want to draw attention and just gave them a head nod. I live in the Southeast and plan on seeing them in Destin, FL on Nov 17 this year; meaning I flew up to Boston to see them and Shadows Fall. Darkest Hour are worth partying with, I promise.

Guitar Hero introduced me to Darkest Hour.. Now more than 10 years later I'm still listening. Hope to see them live some day..

I have to admit, I always thought Undoing Ruin was their strongest album - not Deliver Us. The last time I saw them, they still chucked in tons of old stuff. A really solid band with fun live shows.

One of my favorite bands of all time, I’m so lucky to have gotten to see them back in the day when Oklahoma was their most popular song.. that was a period frozen in time in the history of underground metal, barely documented. You just had to be there. That was 20 plus years ago
