I would like to believe that rachet plan, is to go ask help from the decepticons, and after megatron saw what Optimus has done to his own group, he actually fears that he may lose is group of the decepticons (megatron does not care about any of them, but in this case he might just want to protect them and his ship, has he still wants do dominate earth) so megatron is the only capaple of defeating Optimus. I was gonna say that he would use again dark energon, but then unicron would come back and that would be really bad, and also that he actually kills Optimus since It has in the only way to stop him, wich would make megatron actually sad to lose and old friend cuz he never thought that he would him against Optimus in this way. But nah, in this history megatron would probably defeated Optimus but in the end they managed to somehow bring back Optimus, and he gets a trauma after seeing what he has done.
