Iam one of the Musubi farms outgrowers. I have so far planted 20 acres and will be increasing the acreage as soon as my Avocados get to the second year. Young avocado seedlings are challenging to grow..but…. this is the best decision i have made so far in my farming journey.

@@ronniewamala5768 hi, lets say a 5 year old plant gives you 800 mature fruits during harvest, lets say you do not even export these and you sell them on the local market for say Ug 300shs per fruit. That would be 240,000shs per tree. So lets say you have a minimum of 1000 mature trees, that would be 240,000,000shs a season. If you get into the european market, the fruit would definitely sell for more than the 300shs estimate. The more trees you have, the better. Even if you sold the fruits for less than 300shs, you would still be making money.

Avocado 🥑 is a super profitable fruit. In Kenya it’s cheap to buy so not so profitable, but in South Africa avocado is expensive and very profitable. I would if I had land would grow it if I could.

Pliz open up a distribution point of Hass Avoc Seedlings in northern Uganda. I'm really inspired but where to get the seedlings is the problem.
Thanks for the content learnt and picked something... just that Bitcoin wasn't necessary
My parents and I have planted 15 trees so far. Will increase, by end of this year I wanna plant 100 trees
Thanks for this. Where do you get your planting materials?
Thanks so much for the very informative video, however I would to ask you 1 question. how do I distinguish these avocado trees by mare looking at the tree 🎄 ie this is a Hass or this a Reed tree something like that, I know these tree have different characteristic.
Guy knows his profession really well
Are they grafted or normal avocados trees?
*Where is he getting the water? That's the #1 thing when growing this fruit.* It does take alot of water. My Uncle's have a huge one in California. So I have a basic understanding how this growing works.

Musubi farm has fresh water lake shore, Lake Victoria. There are numerous open river streams as well as wells in most parts of Uganda. Those who dont have proximity to open water irrigation construct boreholes. These range from a few feet deep to 140 feet deep with fresh water good for everything. Good Boreholes and wells in Uganda including pumps cost between $2,000- $10,000 pumped by solar or generators. Remeber uganda is on the Equator so it has 2 rainy seasons meaning 2 harvesting seasons. This isn't the case to North America and europe where they have only one harvesting season unless they use temperature controlled horticulture which have to be subsidised by their rich governments.
I'm interested
Tell me your type of climate
How much does,Musubi farm buy hass, from the outgrowers? Someone told me 800 shillings a,Kilo if true thats,a rip off.

Looks like Lemon grass.
We are still stuck with oranges in teso sub region no buyers can be spotted even for an orange, are we not getting now more confused, with even the market which abroad, access by few players, won't you just rob farmers by you just setting your own price, calling their fruits rejects
10:50 that is fast
So this has been why the Kikuyu and Kalenjin ran government were adamant in pushing the Maasai of their grazing lands in order to grow avocados 🥑 for foreigners. How much farm land in Kenya is dedicated to feed its own people or are they dependent imports❓Africa need to be careful with gentrifying their arable land for exports. Specialisation (economics) was taught to Africans to serve white countries - i.e. Specialise and ship. This does not serve the locals who are left with food insecurity as they are subjected to a fluctuating cost of imported ingredients. Countries should only dedicate 25% of their arable land to foreign crops for exports.
Will start with 1000acres in 2026
