Another fantastic time spent watching this meditative work. I just finished using a dewalt electric extension pole trimmer. Used it for 5hrs and only used 1/3 of the battery. 2/3 were still available!!! Blew my mind. Trimmed 25ft tall ficus hedge 200ft long, 3ft wide. Fantastic trimmer.

Thank you Jason for sharing your experience here. We have the long range machine with BLi300 9.2Ah battery and we love it. We use the same battery on the chainsaw of the same make and it is also fantastic, we can work a all day on a charge. The only disappointment is when we use this battery on the mower, then with the mower thé battery barely makes it for 20 to 30 minutes at best. For anything except the mower thé battery machines are fantastic, drastic cut in fuel cost, less noise..

Nice informative video Jason. I always use petrol machinery but aware of the future being electric. Nice to see someone given a practical vid on the performance of these as i always wondered how far you would get hedge trimming in the real world on these. I still love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning...lol

Great video Jason, i have a hand held spear& jackson battery hedge trimmer which i got just to try out i find i use it more and more think the batt stuff still has a good few years to get up to petrol tools. at least the Lithium batteries last better that the old Ni cad stuff which would struggle to cut the cress for an egg sandwich !

very impressed for bottom of the range jason. good for the enviroment & the hearing even has a tip protector. imagine what the top end stuff is like (have been looking ) just a thought when you said you started in the middle. sometimes on real long hedges i jump to the end (false feeling of being finished ) then go back weird i know. take care mate.

thegeordiefellwalker haha I do that alot on big hedges, I my head it's two smaller hedges instead of one biggen. It would be very interesting to see how a top of the range would do and a bigger battery. Take it easy Geordie mate 👍

I'm currently saving to purchase the husqvarna professional battery series which with the biggest backpack battery can last a full day of use, I know because my neighbor has the series, I'm definitely a husqvarna battery series fan but a Stihl petrol equipment fan!

cracking job, its really nice to cut a well trained hedge. Really am considering a battery powered trimmer, I have a couple of hedges that are really tall, and being scared of heights, using something lighter and something you don't have to pull start makes sense. Its a bit frosty here and I have a garden tidy up including a hedge. I'll see if I can film there.

I have the 520ihe3, such an excellent machine, absolutely rips. Bit heavy with the bli300 battery but not too bad and well, never runs out of juice lol. Looking at getting this smaller one and a smaler battery.

That's done a cracking job and in economy mode it looks like it would last a day.

I haven’t changed over yet but battery is probably the future for nearly all tools. Chuck in solar charging and after initial cost almost free to use. Interesting video. Looks like almost 100sq m of hedge in total. That right?

I've always been a Husqvarna fan, but run both models of extended reach battery powered hedge trimmers offered by Stihl. I've found they are every bit as effective as the two stroke gas units as far as getting through woodier material. I bring both on all day pruning jobs and between the two batteries I can get through a full day. Worth a try for sure, keep up the good work!

Very impressed with that hedge cutter Jason, it's exactly like you said it's getting the confidence with the battery tools that they won't let you down half way through a job. Do you know if the cold weather affects the battery life?

Uk Lawn Care thanks Curtis. Your spot on, with 2 stroke you can see fuel in the tank but can't see what's in a battery, strange we both put laurel videos up, must be great mind think a like lol. Good question it did say on box how low a temp but I can't remember, be to be honest I personly wouldn't leave battery in shed over night in case of frost damage. Thanks Curtis ☺👍👍👍👍

cold weather batts are used on the pro versions, i think and cost a lot

Laurel cuts best on a slower speed. If that's what economy mode is? I prefer the grunt to the electric/battery side, as you say, it would be annoying using that all day, without protection. Done two jobs today, and it was absolutely freezing, especially on ride-on job that I did. Brrrrrr. Top job. Thanks for sharing.

Green Barrow Garden Services yes that's one reason I keeped it on economy mode slow is best for laurel, yes 2 stroke is king 👍, but to be honest it did well and handy for quick trim jobs and odd shrub. Will do mate. i use the stiga multi tool for most of my everyday stuff. it's a good little work horse to be honest and the attachments are good also. Must be honest tho Jason i'v taken one of your ideas and made a small trimmer out of a old trimmer iv had lying around so many thanks for posting that video... if i get it i'll figure out how to make a video up to the standard you guys are doing and post it up. cheers

Jamie Jon hi non stop 40 mins ish, this hedge take 1 1/2 hour but that including moving about too. 👍👍

next time Jason see how much you can get done not in economy mode it will be nice to here what you think in 6months work with it
