@@SunDarling369 she could have gone to goodwill and found something cheaper in a different color. Zero excuse. Zero. I am beyond frugal and never ever ever would i do that. If all else fails, borrow or wear fucking pants and a blouse. What the mother in law wears is not that damn important, clearly she thought it is so her priorities are a bit fucked I'd say. If it were truly about being frugal and having been poor (which i can relate to) then she wouldn't have bought anything at all. Certainly not a proper dress that i am 99.99%sure was more expensive than getting something not white from goodwill or walmart. If you've truly been poor you know where you can find things you need for the cheapest, you certainly don't end up buying a wedding dress which is in all cases the most expensive option. Hard BS

I often heard while busing tables "This was actually good! Guess we won't have to go to McDonald's after all!" LOL! I was pleased but understood that a lot of people were expecting blocks of tofu instead of the really nice meals we prepared.

That was not the cheapest dress in the world. You can buy dresses from thrift stores for a few bucks. Also, you know what else is cheap? Wearing a dress you already own. It's free, in fact. Even if she owned or could buy no other dress, she could have worn a skirt and a top. And all of these are a million times better ideas than wearing a white wedding dress to your son's wedding.
