*SPOILER ALERT BELOW - ONLY READ IF YOU'VE WATCHED THE WHOLE EPISODE* Guys a few of you need to chill out on the comments. These are only young lads you are talking about and some of you are being incredibly cruel. To answer some of your questions, yes Durkin's press ups weren't fantastic but we had 3 judges behind the camera who were supposed to identify any wrong doing so they should get the blame for not shouting it out, not Durkin. Furthermore if we had disqualified him from that round it still wouldn't have meant that he finished bottom so it wouldn't have automatically eliminated him anyway as he did well in other challenges. On the Adam situation, this series has been fantastic at identifying new top talent to us and regardless of who wins there's an opportunity for us to bring in a number of players. Adam falls in that category 100%. We just didn't feel that it sent off a great message to future applicants on the next series if a brother of one of our players won. We don't want to be accused of nepotism and want to protect the idea of the series which is all about discovering an unknown player from one of our viewers. I understand your frustrations but equally some of your comments are tantamount to bullying and really not fair on the lads, all of whom deserve their place IMO. I love how much you guys care and please appreciate that we care just as much and are making the most informed decisions we can. Cheers, Spence.

Don't get what all the hate was about, Durkin has said nothing wrong or offended anybody, all he's trying to do is play the game he loves and try and get into this hashtag side. Getting rid of Lovatt for fear of nepotism is fair enough, but why let him get this far? It's not like you've only just realised he's James' brother. Taking him to the final six and then deciding to get rid of him for this reason is daft and it's robbed someone else of a place. If nepotism was a concern of yours, he should have never got this far. It makes his performances completely redundant...

Dude spencer created the team with his closest friends so it is ok to have siblings join. They just don't feel that because they are competiting it is fair to have someone's brother win because of nepotism and biased decisions

Just because Adam has a brother in the team doesn't mean he shouldn't be able to win, he was by far the best midfielder and deserved to stay in and maybe even win

Jake Pierce Spot on mate. Spencer can say "oh a nationwide search it would be dodgy to have a brother of someone on the team to win it" all he wants. But if Lovatt wins, he wins fair and square. You can't kick someone out of the competition because he has a brother on the team, it should be completely based on the quality of football and the factors in these trials. It's unfair on him. I'm sure if he never had a brother he would have got through

it shouldn't be a factor taken Into account that he is a brother of an existing team member. very unfair in my opinion as he has solely been eliminated for that reason. he isn't even my favourite in the competition, jemel is, but still feel like Adam has been let down and not for his footballing ability good luck in the future Adam #dont forget to hashtag it

I think spencer should create a second team full of all of the academy players and enter them into a proper league , with the talent they could easily play at a high level of football.

Sorry Spencer but players can improve on their physicality and fitness levels whereas you can't teach someone to be naturally gifted at football. Imagine Moussa Sissoko vs Messi in these tests... Who's better at football? Lol. Aaron Thorpe was the most gifted footballer there for me.

So wrong to disqualify someone based off of potential nepotism... That's discriminatory and unfair, it's "anti-nepotism". Plus, if you're looking for a specific position to fill, you should devote the series to finding a player who can fill that position. You don't want three midfielders in the final so you automatically let Jemel through? Bit silly that, isn't it? Adam Lovatt was the best player in this series honestly, real shame that he was left out for the wrong reasons. Hopefully the next season of Hashtag Academy will be better organized.

Spence, I've been watching you for awhile now. From Fifa vids, to your life with Alex and Joey, to the incredible project that is the Wembley Cup, followed by your Hashtag club and esports crew. What you've done is incredible and many people don't understand the networking, the ambition, dedication and perseverance to see these things through. KZread doesn't give handouts but most of us these days only see where you are now and not the humble beginnings of this channel. They don't get what someone goes through to make the simple videos from their moms houses to become successful, let alone the productions you've created. This episode was class yet difficult. If there's one thing you are, it's fair and compassionate. From a business POV, having Adam go through would be detrimental to the idealism of the series and channel entirely. But people are forgetting the logic of this situation. Sure, maybe Adam doesn't make it this series. He becomes a known option for the future, just like Thorpe, who I personally liked a lot from the beginning. The simple exposure these boys get is incredible. If anyone has ever watched a season of American Idol or The Voice, they'd follow this reasoning. Whether it be for Hashtag or someone else. Having a guy like Adam definitely gave an aspect of competition to bring out the best of the rest. But as the series showed, he fairly fell off towards the later stages and given the needs of the club, the positional conundrum of the remaining players, and the consequences of potential nepotism, this was the right choice. Doesn't mean he doesn't deserve it. It just means it wasn't his time. If he has the ambition, it'll work out for him soon enough. I commend you on your leadership and wisdom in your choices, Spencer. It seems not many will understand your reasoning, but there are people who agree and do not fault you for making the decisions you had to make. Keep up the incredible work. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series. Don't go changin' bro. Good luck.

Why even let Adam get this far if you're gonna drop him because of fears of nepotism? If that's the reason you didn't let him through then you shouldn't have let him through the first trial. I understand the reason for dropping him but if that's how you feel then you shouldn't have let him get this far.

Ik Adam has a brother on hashtag but still he is probably the best player in the academy, maybe even better than Scott pollock and now he's eliminated!!! This is a joke!!! Jack Durkin is honestly so bad and he's still in while Aaron Thorpe, the 2nd best player is out. In conclusion, 2 of the top 3 players in the academy were eliminated

Durkin should of been disqualified for those pathetic push-ups

Nothing wrong with the decision imo, but what was the point of even letting him participate? You should've just not let him enter in the first place. He could always have played for HU and nobody would've complained.

Shouldn't have let Adam in the series if he didn't have a chance to win. He's clearly a better footballer than someone like Jack Durkin but being forcing him to leave because of his brother is a bit of a joke.

Spencer FC You have it twisted. People are upset why you let Adam through in the beginning stages of the academy and why jack durkin is still in the running. (I like jack durkin by the way, I think he will be valuable on the pitch.) Also, many people like myself are confused with what direction you are taking your "club" or "team"? It is somewhat irony but, bear in mind you haven't been taking the fans votes at all in this series. Then again the last challenge may be a fan vote.

How is Jack Durkin not out?! Adam Lovatt was my favourite to win it. Just because he's the brother of a hashtag player doesn't mean he can't win. For me Jack Durkin is the weakest in there now

All of them are good enough to play for hashtag xD

adam was definently the most quality player in the academy if you want two midfielders get rid of Jack Durkin he is not as good as Lovatt or Pollock

I think Jack and Daniel will be eliminated next episode so Scott and Jemel will be left... But Adam Lovatt is clearly better than Jack and Daniel...
