Hasbro Black Series Scout Trooper Helmet Review and Comparison

This is the helmet review and comparison video for the Hasbro Black Series Scout Trooper helmet. Considering that it retails for $135, Hasbro has once again done a phenomenal job! Helmet kits that you have to assemble yourself typically run from $150 - $350, so you really can't beat this piece for the price point. Thank you for watching, and keep safe and healthy!

The Black Series Scout Trooper helmet looked the BEST out of the ones you had on display. Mine finally arrives today 👍🏼

You know, I would have to agree with you there. Although not "screen accurate", it is the best looking and put together of all. I have seen and held A LOT of helmets, and trust me when I tell you, that you will love your Scout Trooper helmet! Thank for your comment brother!

Another comprehensive review. Thanks for the video! I have most of the HBS helmets and this is my favourite thus far. Only a good TIE Pilot or AT-AT Driver would better this offering, in my opinion.

Thank you! This is probably my favorite one so far as well. Although it would be very difficult to get the scale correct, I agree. A pilot or cavalry helmet would be epic 👍🏻

Thanks for the great video and review. I preordered mine and can't wait to receive it. I love the weathering you did to your's, I hope to do something similar. One question about the seams on the side. Do you think it would be possible to fill them with bondo, apoxie or something like that? I'm worried about ruining my helmet but am curious if something could be done about filling in the seams, especially if I weather it and the dark grime accentuates them. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you! Absolutely, filling would be possible. In my experience, anything is possible in putting together or modifying a prop. Now, depending on what you would like the end result to be, you may not get away with just filling in the seams alone. Typically, fillers are going to be a different color altogether than your prop; particularly in this case. Weathering should look very naturally occurring and cohesive. Saying that, even if you weather your helmet, it may not be possible to cover a seam cohesively that goes all the way around the helmet. It may just stick out that you actually covered a seam. The helmet looks absolutely fantastic out of the box. However, if you really want to fill the seams, you may have to do a re-paint on the full helmet to completely cover the seam lines, and then add the weathering. If you have some time, go through my page on IG. I have plenty of pics and WIP stuff out there showing how I fill and paint my props up. Hit me up if you have any other questions. Take care!
