Not only did my dog learn this, but he went into the bathroom with you and when you came out, he expected a cookie. He didn't care who went to the bathroom He wanted a cookie as a reward.

Oh my dog.. 😆😆 mine follows me in an watches me then on walks he literally backs up into a bush (where I can’t get it out usually) and does his thing.. he looks at me after as if to say. I can do it like you mom now give the goods up 🦴 😆😆.

Mine starts running through all his tricks when he wants to do "Tricks for Treats". Cracks me up! When we're finished he gives me kisses! Love him so much!

They are smart and loves to get loves mine just gives me those eyes and then I get yelled from the vet🤪🤪

Glad I was warned about treats for going out. But I do give treats when I leave the house, so he lets me know when he thinks I should leave. 💜

This is my two...ALL day EVERY day! They have trained their mommy well. 😂😂❤️❤️

Not the cookie part, but the scratch o go outside. The best part is I taught my dog 17 years ago, she taught the next dog we got and so on. It's so funny how dogs can learn from each other!

My Mr. Man will sit and just stare at the cookie jar and not look at me till after I offer him one .. sometimes I think he thinks if he stares long enough.. a cookie will jump out and offer itself to him 😆😆.

I never copied..

We have doggy doorbells on the ground so the dogs don’t scratch the door and when we first taught them, they associated the bell with treats so they would ring the bell and then wait for treats 😂 Also, when my GSP was a pup, she would squat and pretend she was peeing to get treats. My dogs are too smart lol

...and Second Law of buying dog toys. I can't just buy one of the same toy. I tend to buy 2 or 3 of the same toy for the 3 family dogs (my own one who lives w/ me & other two at my family's house)

Absolutely! When mine was little, she would go outside & bark. My 2 big dogs would run out to see what she was barking at. She'd run back in, grab their toys, and take them to her crate. If they came close she'd back them up with a growl. Took the big guys months to figure out what she was doing.

Oh, yes that trick🤔. My parents dachshund did that also. She also learned to go to my father and mother for a treat when she was let in. She knew if mom was in the kitchen, she could get a treat for coming back in, then dad would give her a treat in the living room, But, if I was visiting she added me to her plan 🤣. They are smart.

Same here. My 2 year old cockapoo sniffs in my work bag to see if I brought any treats or food home. But he almost always expects something for himself whenever I come home from the grocery store. He's trained me well 😆

My Doxie pie named Benjamin has learned that he can get 2 cookies out of us if he just poops half first. He gets his cookie and runs back and drops the other half. Smart, sneakier little dogs!

My two have learned this trick really well. They also have perfected their nighttime routine. They go to all 3 of their humans separately and ask for their bedtime cookie. They will get 3 cookies that way. We’ve caught on to their tricks. 😂

OMG, YES!! The one that is carrying on the legacy is Stella Diane, a brindle Bull Terrier. She's the last of the 6 pack I had (this has a double connotation as she was named after the beer, Stella Artois). In that group were 3 Dachshunds, Sadie Dawn, Caitlin Jo and Haylie Marie (aka Damnit Haylie). Caitlin Jo started it then Sadie Dawn, her twin, carried it on after she went to the Rainbow Bridge. As years went by that tradition was passed on to those still with me. And now it's Stella Diane that is carrying it on. Caitlin Jo also had another trick, when all 6 were in their circle around me to get their snack after Caitlin got hers she went behind me to get in line on the other end. Side note, the first time I saw Daphne I said she reminds me of Damnit Haylie. She was a paper addict. Any and all paper she would eat! This meant many trips to our veterinarian, Dr. Sifferman. He graduated from Cornell which was a good thing since Damnit Haylie needed the best doctor! There's an incident involving razor blades that I won't go into now but it involved paper as well. Thankfully she survived that incident. It wasn't long before I knew I was right with Daphne and her discovery of the toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. 🙂 By the way, her adding toilet paper to the pizza they ordered was brilliant! ❤🐾🐾❤
