Matt, bought off you many times. I have been collecting 50c for nearly 4 decades but this release has absolutely finished me. From the jammed phone lines at the mint (and no online store), scalpers on ebay and to the bots causing havoc with dealers sites, I’m feeling like I need to call it a day. I have been living overseas now for 10 years and it has all become too hard. Thanks for being a nice bloke.

Thanks for the support Mike! It's very disappointing to hear of keen collectors being pushed out of the market and I hope the mint are able to address the supply issues in the future and we can all get back to enjoying the great hobby!

I take it all back, just finished talking to RAM sales 4.55pm AEDST and they have everything still in stock!!!!!! Don’t panic and give them a call. The mint seem to reducing allocations to stem the flow of scalpers. It has been a very long day but I was able to order both fifties.

Thanks for sharing Matt. You have every right to be frustrated with the RAM. It is very disappointing. I am afraid the great Australian hobby of coin collecting RAM coins is just not worth the frustrations at the moment. Regurgitated designs along with toilet paper and cardboard packaging also takes the prestige out of the RAM and their coins. 🍻

I am glad you broached this topic. I was wondering how one is to obtain these coins, given that I am disabled and cannot travel. I was hoping you could help me here but that may not be possible seeing as your web page states sold out :( . I fully understand how you need to increase your pricing and thats ok. As for the Canberra Mint it is nigh on useless to me and many others no doubt.

Sorry to hear that Wisey, it seems to be a real issue at the moment for them!

I feel that the Mint dropped the ball on this one. 14 months later they release a memorial coin for QEII? How long did they expect her to live? They should have had a design ready to go and we should have Charles on our coins by now. Head of the Mint should go!

Agree 100%. QEII memorial coin is not even an original design and still not with the Charles III effigy. Such a wasted opportunity for such a huge historic milestone.

It certainly seems strange to me that a change of obverse ground the entire mint to a halt for so long. I suppose these matters are more complicated than we give them credit for? 🤷

I must say I do not have much frustration with RAM. In fact...If I had to only choose coins from one Australian mint...I would choose the RAM over Perth due to the lunar series being my favorite and the Zoo series is fantastic!

Ahh the key difference here though, is you're looking at their wonderful bullion coin range! The proof coins and collectable coins are causing some havoc over here at the moment 🤣

I also blame the media for hyping up these coins and advertising how much they're selling for on eBay. Those people who really don't collect coins all of a sudden see dollar signs in their eyes. These people spoil it for all us serious coin collectors.😢

I didn’t even know 😂😂😂😂😂😂 All sold out except the 1/2 gram gold coin.

@@ThompsonsCoins Very simple Matt… I prefer the look and feel of the NGC holder. I like the labels, and choices of labels. I find PCGS slabs to be a bit boring and unappealing. Yeah man, that’s the only reason. It’s all just aesthetics. 😂

This coin has a nice design, although I have not managed to score one of these coins. I did however manage to score the Majestic Images $1 silver proof Australian coin from 1999 a week before writing this comment.

sucks how mint hasn't been selling most of the good one's online.only to buy from eBay at shocking prices.but ok for NSW sucks even more.Hi Matt

I find it very disappointing small collectors miss out again, but it doesn't make sense ANDA four coin set on offer last month is still available even downies have none to sell I,m about to throw the towel in find new hobby 😢😢

I must admit I did boast to my wife that Thompsons Coins literally sold more of these coins than Downies....😅 Very disappointing times but hopefully it improves down the line!

Fair call being ex downies worker for downies not to get ANDA coins now latest release a no go what is happening i try to support Thompson's coin being local small company but it comes down to allocation until now downies had the stock I,m just finding it very disappointing so many coins out of reach for small collectors I have never sold a coin in two years of collecting so I can honestly say I don,t collect for profit cheers Matt 🍻

Are these coins Circulating or “only minted to sit in a collector’s sock draw” type of coin. TBH I’ve lost interest in the just for collectors crap - feel free to fight amongst yourselves for these.
