At the time of Jesus, their language had been modified from Hebrew to Aramaic so the name Yoshua was mentioned as Yeshua. The Greeks mentioned it as Yesu/Iesu. The Romans mentioned it as Yesus/Iesus. The Romans added s to most of the names eg. Zechariah became Zecharias, Yudah became Yudas/Iudas/Judas, etc. It was the English people who introduced the letter J to all these names. So the Latin Iesus/Yesus/Yesu became jesus. The Yesu we use in Twi was picked directly from the Greek bible- and many languages/countries including Portugal use Yesu. If this woman means well, she shld correct what she's saying- the name is as a result of intonation that had evolved from all these languages using it. Do you really think if a British mentions the name kwame and teaches a Greek man and then the Greek man teaches an Arab how to mention the same name, do you think you a Ghanaian can recognize it?? I have my own reservations about the Bible and Christianity, but it's good we address issues objectively instead of basing your arguments on possible lies.Any one who has done linguistics appreciate these issues with names and words.

There is nothing wrong with different interpretations of the Bible. And everything has been included in it by Niceas. There are different books, like the bible, Jasher, Meccabees, Jubilee, and Enoch, to mention a few. The time the bible was written had a different background and needed to be upgraded to suit the modern context like the books we use at schools, but the idea is to understand that there is God and Jesus once lived as a man.
