Thank you for that message " Has the church replaced Israel ? " . As Dr Vlach said that the answer can be found in the Bible . In the book of Romans 11;16-20.gives the clear picture. Apostle Paul compares Israel to the olive tree (root) and the gentiles as a wild olive tree branch. The branch (Gentiles) grafted into the tree. That analogy gives the clear picture to understand that the church has not replaced Israel. At the end when Jesus returns He will rule all the nations from Jerusalem , Israel.

Actually, Israel is referred to as the "natural branches" and they got broken off of the olive tree (covenant body). The gentiles were grafted in and one day, it seems that the natural branches will be grafted back in. See Romans 9 as well -- Paul specifically says that "not all who are in Israel are of Israel," which provides the necessary context for the olive tree analogy. The unbelieving Jews broke the covenant and are apostate from the true Israel, while believing gentiles were grafted in. Even when God grafts them back in, they are still part of the same olive tree, not a separate plant.

Hi Nivalian--all the tribes were represented in the Southern Kingdom. When the split took place we're told that "those from all the tribes of Israel who set their hearts on seeking the Lord God of Israel" went with Rehoboam to the Southern Kingdom (2 Chron 11:16). Hence Paul can still refer to himself as a Benjamite (Rom 11:1). The term "Jew" (literally, "Judean, Heb. Yehudi)was used (as of Esther) to describe all resident of the Southern Kingdom ...

I haven't heard any normative dispensational speaker or writer say Covenant theologians are anti-Semitic. The Road to Holocaust by Lindsey, Future Israel by Horner, Israelology by Fruchtenbaum, and Vlach's treatment are all good statements against anti-Judaism. I don't think any of these writers declare that Cov theologians are anti-Semitic per se. Theological anti-Judaism is more correct I would say. I understand if you don't understand this, but it is just like any other biblical and theological issue; it takes time to read the right things and become familiar with the positions. The four books above are as good as any other place to start to understand the dispensational position.

And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and when it falls on anyone, it will crush him." "Some even say the Church is Israel" You mean Paul? Galatians 6:16, Romans 9:6-12, and Romans 11 with the olive tree would support that statement. I would challenge the dispensationalist to counter that. Scripture does not seem to indicate anywhere that Israel is somehow separate from the Church -- I just don't see it anywhere. That said, I gladly say with you, Jesus is the only way.

"I will build my church (called out ones)" "church was there from the beginning" theory completely contradicts how Jesus and Paul talk about the mystery of the Church of Christ believers in what Paul refers to as the dispensation of Grace.

Was not Israel to be the Nation that God chose to the example to draw ALL the other nations back to God? Was Jesus not the blessing by which all the nations of the world were to be blessed through Abraham? The hubris of modern man to possibly think they can know WHO ethnic Israel or Jews or Hebrew etc. as Abraham was. Seed by faith….Jew and Gentile Support faithing believers in God through Christ Jesus .

Let's talk this out, i watched ALL 5 parts, it is a good presentation but i believe that there are some things that have not been thought out or that have been overlooked.

Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? 10. It was brought to the United States about the time of the Civil War by John Nelson Darby. The doctrine was later incorporated into the notes of the Scofield Reference Bible, and then spread through much of the modern Church. Dallas Theological Seminary in Dallas Texas was created in part to promote John Darby’s Two Peoples of God doctrine of Dispensational Theology. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the first president of Dallas Theological, had the following to say about the difference between Israel and the Church: “The dispensationalist believes that throughout the ages God is pursuing two distinct purposes: one related to the earth with earthly people and earthly objectives involved which is Judaism; while the other is related to heaven with heavenly people and heavenly objectives involved, which is Christianity.” Lewis Sperry Chafer, Dispensationalism (Dallas, Seminary Press, 1936), p. 107. Chafer states that, ‘Israel is an eternal nation, heir to an eternal land, with an eternal kingdom, on which David rules from an eternal throne,’ that is, on earth and distinct from the church who will be in heaven.” Lewis Sperry Chafer. John Walvoord, another prominent voice of Dallas Theological stated… "...it is an article of normative dispensational belief that the boundaries of the land promised to Abraham and his descendants from the Nile to the Euphrates will be literally instituted and that Jesus Christ will return to a literal and theocratic Jewish kingdom centred on a rebuilt temple in Jerusalem. In such a scheme the Church on earth is relegated to the status of a parenthesis.” John F. Based on Acts 2:36, and Romans 9:6-8, and Romans 11:1-5, and Hebrews 12:22-24, and James 1:1-3, can faithful Israel and the Church be separated into two different groups? Who is the New Covenant promised to in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and Hebrews 8:6-13? Will modern Orthodox Jews ever be saved outside of the New Covenant Church?

I watched all series and I enjoyed them and thought they were very interesting. One question though: The Jewish people are only one tribe of Israel (Judah), so what about the other tribes lost during the Assyrian invasion that scattered the other 10 tribes? Is this important according to the promises of God and the state of Israel? Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on that issue.

Wrong. Frequently in the Old and New Testaments the term Israel or Jewish people refers to the entire nation, not just Judah. Paul refers to the nation of Israel as his desire that they be saved. He was not just talking about Judah for he was not of the tribe of Judah. God promised to restore the whole nation of Israel gathering them from the four corners of the earth. There are differing listings of who composed the 12 tribes for various reasons, but all Israel (from each tribe) is to be saved. No tribe will be left out...not even Dan.

A Jew is anyone descended from the 12 tribes coming from Jacob. Whenever you read "Israel," replace it with "Judah" and see if it makes sense to limit the context to only 1 tribe

James addressed his letter to "the twelve tribes" who were his "brethren" in the "faith" in the passage below. Jas 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. Jas 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Jas 1:3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James knew the Northern tribes had been taken into captivity and their DNA was dispersed among the Gentiles hundreds of years before the time of Christ. Was James including the Gentiles in the passage in the same way Paul included the Gentiles in the Olive Tree of Romans 11?

There are Hundreds of Commandments! . The words “Thou shalt” appear 965 times in the Old Testament. The words “Thou shalt not” appear 204 times in the Old Testament. Of course, not all of these are God speaking, but most of them are. The Ten Commandments do not forbid homosexuality, but God's Law does forbid homosexuality in Leviticus 20:13 and elsewhere. It is important that people be taught all of God's Word. There are over 700 commandments from God in the Old Testament. . It is interesting that Jesus summed up all the Law and prophets into TWO commandments . . . . Matthew 22:36-40, "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

?? It's pretty firmly established that there are 613 commandments in the Torah.

The entire Bible should be read about what YAH said about his relation with the Natural Israel and converted gentiles. HAS THE CHURCH REPLACED NATURAL ISRAEL AS YAH (GOD) COVENANT PEOPLE Has the church or converted gentiles replaced Israel (YAH covenant people)-absolutely NOT!!! In fact in Deut. 7 vs 6 & 14 vs 2 it clearly states that YAH has put the Natural Israel not equal to but above ALL people. Those gentiles who have FAITH in Yeshua (YAH messenger) and keep YAH commandment (Matt. 19 vs 16-19, James 2 vs 10-27, Rev. 14 vs 12) will be grafted into the nation of Israel (Rom 11 vs 11-31). Romans 11:25-26 tells us that Israel has a future. For the prophecies state that Israel is currently partially hardened, but someday that will no longer be true. That means YAH (God) is not finished with ethnic Israel, His chosen people- the gentiles who are a part of the church (body of true worshippers) have NOT replaced the Natural Israel. Moreover the prophecy in Duet. 28:65- 68 and Isaiah 11:11-12 clearly shows that YAH has not abondoned his CHOSEN people because they are going to restored back to the land that they were taken from. Natural Israel was chosen to be a MORAL EXAMPLAR to the nations of the world (Is 42vs 6 ,46 vs 9) and it is through them the nations of the earth would be blessed (Gen. 12 vs 2-3 22 vs 18).

If that has actually happened then our civilisation is in doom. I love Jesus but not his Dad,who is pictured as a grudge full bully with all this sin stuff because the way Christianity got hijacked by the Nicene Creed, I side with the Cathars on God the father relationship. Back to Vedic roots

Rodrick Evans Jesus survived crucifixion and was married to Mary Magdalene they had three children two boys and a girl. Some New Testament stories are about Jesus junior who also was a priest. the story is about the Israeli royal family bloodline. The whole thing about fathers (God) and his angels were different priestly positions in Jesus group who were Essenes they were medical people hence Jesus healing people we’ve got Rome’s version of Christianity via Peter and Paul. God is love and no one goes to hell.

Judaism is a dead religion; the land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael) and the Jewish people (Medinah Yisrael) are not the basis for the Kingdom to come. Don't get me wrong: God continues to love, and will always love, the Hebrew people. Notice that the book in the New Testament specifically addressed to them is called 'The Book Of Hebrews', and not 'The Book Of Jews'. You should stop confusing being Jewish with being of the Hebrews, who are just people-sinners who need to be saved just like everyone else. Amen.

Judaism is the only monotheistic religion and therefore eternal. As their Bible says, the Jews will be a small, scattered, hated - but eternal - people. Christiantiy is a Roman attempt to appropriate Judaism - as the Romans did with all religions in their empire - whihc is why christianity mixes in pagan mumbo-jumbo such as vicarious atonement, dualism, and human deities. All archetypes already found in Mediterranean pagan belief systems.
