game piggy use it as a way to break the cycle. When you have a child be there for them no matter what. Teach them and praise and hold them responsible when they are old enough to be. Most importantly tell them that you love them. To many men are afraid to show emotion. The world is hard and men need to be strong in the world. Your family should always know the real you. Just some advice from a father of 2 boys working on being men.

I quit drinking last summer around June. I was quite a heavy drinker, never ever went out, went to a social event, or even mowed the lawn without alcohol. One day I just woke up and said I don’t feel like drinking anymore and I just quit. Never looked back, never felt better. Also makers mark was my absolute favorite. To anyone out there reading this, if you want to quit drinking alcohol, as hard is it may seem, trust me it is possible. Every day gets better and easier. This is crazy. This is a question I am asking myself all the time. Since Covid hit (here in Germany), I've been drinking more, for sure. Not to an alarming rate but to a degree I am not really comfortable with anymore to be honest. I keep myself entertained by making KZread videos, my university degree and my job but yet - somehow I drink more than usual (even though all this stuff already takes up almost 90% of my time). I believe it was Tacitus who said that the biggest strength and weakness of the early Germanics was their ability to drink a lot. On one hand they could drink all night long but once they were drawn to the alcohol the romans provided them, they were easily pursaded and turned into roman puppets. It's hard to see ones potential go to waste because of something like that. I don't what this video means for me but it's eerie to watch it because I recognize myself in a lot of what You're saying Cody. You're such an inspiration on how you're taking care of your family and how you are approaching life in general. May your video have a positive impact on all of Us. Kind Regards Wicki

Thank you for your honesty. I feel like this is just further evidence that it’s best just to never let alcohol in your life. I’ve been very blessed and fortunate to have parents that did not drink so alcohol was never ever a temptation I’m glad it wasn’t because I don’t know, I may have given in who knows. I’m definitely not stronger than any other man. But for the sake of my children I’ve decided never to allow alcohol in my house. seems like that’s the best choice. Some people can handle it, some people can’t, might as well not take the chance. Prayers to all of you who are trying to overcome the addiction. I can’t imagine how hard it would be.

If I could offer a little bit of advice it would be to go see a professional to help plan your way through. Hey Cody, I'm 23 from upstate NY (aka east Coast Man). I found this video to be very helpful, I've been watching your channel for the past few months and never would have thought you to be struggling with alcohol like I am. I work as a groundskeeper on a beautiful piece of property, and since, I've gotten into the habit of having 2 or 3 drinks every night after a long day of work, especially now as the days get colder there's nothing better than a couple craft beers in front of the fire. In the back of my mind, I am always thinking about the ways this habit could be affecting me and my goals. It's really wonderful to hear you be so open and talk about your own struggles. Your channel has had a great impact on my life. thanks for being the male role model I've been needing.

This, I’m sure, is one cause for alcoholism in the church. The topic itself is so taboo that anyone struggling with it fears the thought of reaching out for help and cannot find a support system in their church. God only gave us ten laws to follow - if He thought alcohol had no place in man’s life we would have 11 commandments.

If alcohol is a sin, then Jesus is a sinner who cannot take our punishment because he has his own to pay. Anytime your understanding of the Bible makes Jesus a sinner, you have the wrong understanding. That said, the Bible certainly does make drunkenness a sin, over and over and over. As long as you aren't getting drunk, it isn't a sin.

Once you stop doing that the rest is relegated to how do you want to feel and what would you like your life to look like? The insidious piece to addiction is that it works. As in, it changes the way you feel. Once you stop drinking you have to put effort into your spiritual, emotional, mental and physical well being. It’s a multi-pronged approach. You matter. Those around you matter. Sobriety holds value and you are that value. Keep working, Cody. Anything with having is with the effort you expend.
