I almost fell of the chair laughing when I saw the price tag. In the middle of the worldwide financial situation, I totally agree that he is completely out of touch with reality. As my Dad used to say, this skincare line is for someone “who has more money than sense.” There are other brands who have been using grapes for far longer than “La Domain” that are far less expensive. I can’t imagine Brad Pitt has been able to do anything that hasn’t been done before. I’m so disappointed that these actors and celebrities spend time and money on stuff like this. Do they really have so little to contribute to humanity, is it really all about money? And apparently he hand his advisors have no idea how savvy we’ve become. Final nail in the coffin for me is citing Gwyneth Paltrow’s products as his inspiration. Another influencer I watched yesterday said “really? You’re going to get advice / inspiration from the folks that brought the world vagina eggs?” I almost spit out my coffee I was laughing so hard.

I would never buy a skincare routine more expensive that my monthly car payment lol

Ciara (who I love) is coming out with a new skincare line and Lady Gaga (who I am obsessed with) has had a makeup line now for a couple of years and recently has rebranded it as "clean" and "natural" and I feel like I am just stuck in a twilight zone of celebrities creating tons of unnecessary products and contributing to environmental harm as well as general misinformation and "green washing" and "science washing" of stuff. I just want every celeb to STOP.

I was so confused when she rebranded Haus. I really love some of her blush/highlighter & bronzer/highlighter palettes. She does good liquid eyeshadows, eye liners, lip liners and lipglosses/oils. Good thing I got them for a reasonable price, and now I know it was because of the rebrand! The things I have are great quality, but why is everything at least $40+ now?

I’m thinking that, every since Rihanna’s major success with her Fenty makeup line, every celebrity has decided they’re going to get rich by creating something beauty related - no matter how over saturated the market is. It’s actually not even a new concept, because a popular actress of the 30s came out with a beauty line back then and it went bankrupt in a few years after launching.

Yes, and it seems that celebrities do not recognize that we do not have the same expectations for makeup as we have for skincare, or health products. They are not equal! Also, Rihanna (and whomever was advising her) did something that was NEEDED in the beauty industry: a makeup line with MUCH expanded color options that would serve the myriad skintones found in the world and that could be sold at a relatively affordable price. No one "needs" another cream or serum...especially not one that has not been proven to be effective in any way.

I don’t know how I came across your page months ago,but, I’m so glad I did. You are honest and It’s obvious that you are in this to help people learn. It’s sad that these celebrities take advantage of us by using their name. I have used sunscreen and tretinoin and stopped buying extra creams for my eyes because what you said just makes sense.. I have one thick nighttime moisturizer and I use that under eyes and it’s works great. That is a ridiculous amount of money for anyone. I thank you for sharing all your knowledge, I have learned so much.

This is why we love you Dr Dray, your honesty! Who the heck can afford those prices, maybe rich people and other celebrities! Does he even use it? Dr. Dray I wanted to tell you you have inspired me to continue with more lifestyle changes. I went back to a video you did on sugar, and I was especially inspired with the example you gave about how something like walking can snowball into more changes. I'm trying to build back an old workout habit, and I am eating less sugar. I have an established sunscreen habit and I stopped drinking and smoking almost five years ago. You have inspired me to maintain those habits too. Thank you for all your free advice. I even like broccoli now!!! You are a magician. 😄

That’s amazing! My biggest challenge is fixing my sleep schedule. I also cut sugar, and improved sunscreen application. I also have a beast dental regimen. I feel weird, but I want to tackle all areas of my life hahaha

One thing I always think is weird with these lines is that clearly it isn't what the celebrities have been using since the line is new! I would personally be more interested to hear what a celebrity is actually using on their own skin - maybe they should do collabs with existing skincare brands to make a "my skincare routine" line. I'm not in marketing, but I'd be way more interested in that.

Funny thing is I just ordered the Resveratrol from TO a few days ago and no way will I order Brad Pitt's overprized skin care products. I'm with you on everything you said, totally out of touch!

It’s surprising to me that celeb skincare lines are still profitable because my sense is that (for most people) we tend to stick to the products that work for us and not constantly try out new ones. I’ve been using the same drugstore moisturizer and cleanser, slightly higher end sunscreen/day moisturizer and vitamin c serum, and prescription tretinoin for a while and they are truly all I need right now.

Loved this! You slay when you point out all the shortcomings of this brand. Highly entertaining, made me have some good laughs and informative, as always!
