Harvok Suit of Armour 2022 Review | caravancampingsales

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's Australia's first 48V off-grid caravan built with a one-piece steel body and chassis, but should you buy one?
Chinese/Australian caravan brand Harvok has been creating headlines since launching down under less than six months months ago.
First there was Australia's cheapest all-electric 48-volt full-size caravan, followed by a hybrid compact caravan boasting industry-first, fully welded monocoque steel construction borrowed from the automotive industry.
Now the ambitious RV manufacturer has also given its full-height couple and family caravans the 'full metal jacket' treatment, with the recent arrival in Australia of the first 19ft 6in Harvok Suit of Armour models.

3.3t tare on a 19ft caravan sadly takes it outside of most medium SUVs and DC utes tow/GCM. This is just shy of a ton heavier than an equivalent size traditional construction. The concept is cool but that is realistically just too heavy to be a volume alternative. Even if they get it to 3t tare, that is a still a big ask for anything short of an American “truck”.

Gee, you can buy one of these then slip down the road and buy a Kenworth to pull it....Good to see a huge amount of customer market research went into the design of this van, when customers are screaming out for lower tare weights.....Job well done....NOT

A rubber strip contacting earth in order to avoid static charge build up in van I’m guessing

Calling it a monocoque is just marketing rubbish. Anyone with any engineering knowledge will understand it’s not a monocoque at all. A monocoque structure bears the load throughout its body or skin, think of a aircraft. Modern cars are typically unibody construction so again, nothing like this van. This van is a box welded to a chassis so it’s no different to a regular van made of composite panels glued to a chassis. Using metal for the skin is just dumb. It’s heavy, will eventually rust and soaks up heat.

Why buy Chinese when we have so many home grown vans and we help our own economy.

The van they have in WA has rust all over its drawbar, under the main frame and around the rear bar. I was loving it until I saw that and then I was out

All chinese steel is prone to rust as are their chrome fittings and springs. On my Opus I have painted their pressed steel front with galvanise paint, but their screws and bolts all have a tendency to rust and need spraying with a rust preventative at some time or other. I have heard from friends that their caravans which have chinese sourced parts also have the same problems. i doubt it would be a concerning structural problem - just looks tacky.

Very expensive and not practical. The fiberglass body is much lighter and not subject to corrosion, has better thermal insulation. I am not sure that such products will be popular among travelers.

100% True . Know 4 Sure that Regent r manufacturered in China 🇨🇳 Spoke with a guy 2 days ago who worked 4 Regent. He said people r bringing there Vans back 4 refunds inside 3 months. The just start falling apart . These Vans look Gr8 👍 👌 Only 2 down falls that l can see 👀 r these 2 . 1) 19 ft . A 22/23 ft should be forth coming asap . 2) Fully equipped Electric just Sensational. However Australians love ❤️ there BBQ's So an exterior slide out bbq has Been a Huge Over Sight on this COMPANIES planing . As 4 the Weight they can see if they can trim it down if possible. But don't ever compromise Quality Ever . As 4 Price . U get what u pay 4 . Again don't compromise on Quality. People looking for Caravans 🚐 in this price bracket r very discerning purchasers and if they can be shown that there $$$ are being spent wisely then this may not be as Big a Problem as mentioned.

What do you when all of the Chinese ‘no name’ brand appliances start breaking down in the middle of no where? 🥹
