About Harvey's guest:
Today’s guest, Kent McCord, is a beloved actor who is forever remembered for his portrayal of “Officer Jim Reed” on the classic TV shows, “Adam-12” and “Dragnet 1967”.
And he’s appeared in dozens of other TV shows including “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet”, “Galactica 1980”, “Unsub”, “SeaQuest 2032”, “Renegade”, “Silk Stockings”, “JAG” and “Farscape”. He’s also appeared in many feature films and TV movies including “The Young Warriors”, “The Outsider”, “Breakout”, “Airplane 2: The Sequel”, “Nashville Beat”, “Return of the Living Dead 3”, “Tides of War”, and many more.
And get this, he’s the only actor to have appeared in FIVE Elvis Presley movies. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild National Board of Directors for 11 years, and in 1999 he received the Ralph Morgan Award in recognition of his devoted service to the membership. And in the year 2000, he and his “Adam-12” co-star Martin Milner received the LAPD Historical Society's Jack Webb Award for their support of the Los Angeles Police Department.

As someone who never missed Adam-12 when I was a kid, I think it was on every Saturday night and I still watch it on MeTV almost every day, I was so looking forward to this interview. You continue to top yourself Mr. Brownstone. Kent McCord is a real gent who is as handsome as ever and this was a great interview. It's like seeing an old friend. I'm an unapologetic Baby Boomer! 😊

Wow! Another great one, Mr. Brownstone! Now I'm going to comb thru those Elvis movies to look for Kent.🙂 I especially loved the insight to Jack Webb. We just had a binge watch of "Dragnet". These celebrities you are interviewing are such class acts. What a space you are filling. So many of these stars of yesteryear that so many of us wonder "What Happened To?" Kent really has some interesting stories that only he could tell. God bless him and you, Harvey. Thank you!

Great interview, I knew it would be. About 10 years ago, my brother and I met Kent at a Hollywood Autograph Show. My brother was a fan of his from Adam 12. My brother was also an admirer of Ozzie Nelson and his accomplishments. Kent cheerfully recalled some happy times to us about being on the set of the Ozzie and Harriet tv show. We had our photo taken with Kent and my brother looked awful in it. Kent graciously insisted that the photo be taken again. So kind of Kent to take the time as there were other fans in line waiting to see him. I am thankful for that since my brother's passing, I have the photo as another sweet keepsake.

There were 2 episodes which had the "n----r" word back in February of 1971 & in November of 1971!! My favorite episode of "Adam-12" was the "Ghost Town" episode in late 1969 from the 2nd Season. I did not seen the "DA" episode BUT the late Robert Conrad appeared in the "Adam-12" episode in late 1971 from the 4th Season. My brother liked the race car drag strip episode with the late Dick Clark (4th Season in 1972) BUT he hasn't seen the motorcycle gang episode (with Monkee Micky Dolenz) which started the 5th Season in September 1972. My late dad wanted me to go to summer camp back in 1978 (which I spent 2 weeks from August 6 till August 20) at the former University Of Michigan Fresh Air Camp (near Hell, MI which is now North Star Reach since the early 2010's) & in the 2 part episode which starts the 7th & Final Season in September 1974, Mallory & the kids go to camp. The last time that I saw Kent McCord on TV was in "Hollywood Squares" (during "Crime Prevention Week" with host Tom Bergeron) back in 2005 with Martin Milner.

EXTRA special interview. TY for not interrupting KM (as others would do) during his long exchanges. OT: (maybe) - from a female source who costarred on the 60s DRAGNET that Jack W. could be a real SOB to his off/backstage crew but nicer to the actors. So, it's great that KM could get along with him. I luved KM in BATTLESTAR. Hubba, hubba.

Damn!!! I'll have whatever he is having....he still looks hot at 81! My gosh. Something I have determined as to why actors of yesterday are so much superior to today's actors. Actors back then went into it for the love of doing it. Hopefully, it paid well but the goal was about learning and doing the craft. It seems today that people get into acting for the fame and/or money. Also, studios worked with the actors to master their craft --they were given time. Today you have to hit it out the field on day one or you are yesterday's news. Don't you agree Harvey.
