Harvesting Steamer Clams On An Early Spring Day

I went to the Hoods Canal to harvest some fresh seafood. In my prior video, It was oysters. This time It's clams.

    I found the digging tips helpful and will implement that in my dig today. Love the bucket hole idea! Im off right now to put one in mine.

    I found that bucket that way on the ocean beach. Someone else had the idea and, I'm just sharing it.

    I call them very tasty. You don't even have to soak them to spit out sand. We have native little neck clams that retain a lot of sand up their neck. It takes them about 24 hours to spit out the sand.

    Are you talking about Willapa Bay off the mouth of the North River. If so I haven't raked clams there in about 20 years.
