Great job Geoffrey. It is interesting how as these machines get a bit of age their market value drops and all of a sudden they are in reach of the small farmer. And often there are units that dispite age and hours may have been well looked after and can go on for years doing a few acres. I am so pleased your crop recovered from the wet, I hope you can deal with the ryegrass next year. Dave.

Hi David, it is amazing how fast the value drops on older machinery. The TR88 only has 3300 hours on it, so should be good for a lot more yet. At $4000 it is the second most expensive machine I have, but has payed for it’s self doing contract work for the person I bought it from. The rye grass is a problem around here and resistant to lots of the chemicals now, but yes next year I hope to get on top of it better. Thanks from Geoffrey.

@@brookdalefarm7986 it's amazing how cheap the old machinery is but these so much use lift in them and half of them are better then new machinery. it just most farmers don't like old machines for contracting

Hi James, I am glad you are enjoying my videos. The reason for getting the TR88 was that it was very close by so easy to drive home and I could pay it off over a couple of years. It has been a good machine, but being a twin rotor it has twice the maintenance of som either machines. I was also looking at Case harvesters. There are a number of them in the district and they are very reliable and getting much cheaper although they are still twice the price of the New Holland. The Chamberlains are tough tractors and have always been reliable but none of them have very good breaks. I have used a few of them over time, and there are lots still in use in our district. Some models are now becoming collectable and cost a lot more than they use to. I got mine really cheap considering it had almost new Tyers on the back, but was missing the steering box. Thanks from Geoffrey

@@jamieshields9521 Hi James, the place I work has 2 2188. I do all the servicing on them. They are good reliable machines. We had 2 chamberlain c670s hitched together as a tandem. It was an almost unstoppable monster. Thanks from Geoffrey

Not saying the New Hollands are a bad machine at all but good god I’ll take a Case IH any day of the same era over that mess of controls everywhere. I do know that the new hollands do a good job at threshing but i like everything on the right hand console

Hi Braden, I think the joystick on the case is much easer to use, but I do like having the tilting comb in the TR8k. Thanks from Geoffrey
