Harvesting and Handpicking Bugs! And we got a dog!!
I've got so much to do in the garden! We spend some time getting all the things done- planting more tomatoes, harvesting and spraying the green beans, and fighting with the aphids and squash bugs. I also introduce our newest farmhand, a 1.5 year old Armenian Gampr livestock guardian dog and show y'all just the reason we had to get him!

We grow all our squash, pumpkins, zucchini, yellow squash, honeynut and butternuts up on trellis's. It's so much easier to spot eggs and squash bugs. Zucchini and yellow squash we plant in July as the squash bugs are so much less than in the late spring early summer. Only spray Neem in the evening and rinse off in the morning. That way you won't kill the beneficial bugs and bees. A mist of milk and water works great to reduce the population of aphids as does a strong stream of water.

Thank you so much, that is all such wonderful advice! All this is still pretty new to me so I’m just trying to learn as I go. Since this video I haven’t noticed anymore squash bugs or eggs but one of my pumpkins got infested with a squash vine borer so I’m really trying to avoid the spread of them! I have marigolds planted and I have noticed the borers being attracted to them so that seems to be working too! I’ll definitely add some trellis’s next year and try again using those!
