Good Video. I would like to see an indepth explaination of the various user setting and why you changed them and what the thought process is behind each setting. I would suggest always setting extra dry time to at least 12 if not 24 hours for convenience of knowing the dryer will not end in the middle of the night or while at work. Also show how to read the full software version number for trouble shooting software issues. Why-o-why did HR hide the full version number??

I just watched this video and the last one you made on trying to fix the older unit and I think that your determination to fix it should applauded , most people would not be able to do that and I do believe that you had shamed them so badly that the CEO felt obligated to send you a new unit, congratulations and I hope this new machine will work much better for you. I was contemplating on all the people that haven't been able to fix there FDs and wonder how big of a pile they would make 😊

So I bought the extra large harvest Right freeze dryer which was for the garden season last year . 3 years to save enough money. Went to go fire it up Friday for the garden season and it would not freeze. Contact at harvest Right I had to pay them $45 to speak to a technician wasted 3 days of my time . Just for them to tell me what I already knew. another 90 bucks + 432 for shipping to get it looked at and maybe fixed and 6 to 8 weeks for them to ship it back to me. What a deal !

That sucks!!! They have been experiencing issues with refrigerant leaks coming from the coils under the foam. This new machine hasn't had the same issues. Either way I'm not a fan of their customer service..

You mentioned relays around time 19:15. I purchased a Medium PRO recently and investigated why HR had a problem with relays failing so I might prevent the problem with my unit. Background: When controlling a AC load with any type of a switch, you want to turn off/on the switch when the AC voltage curve goes thru ZERO volts (AC resistive loads like the HR tray heaters. Motors are different because AC current and voltage to/across the load are not in phase with other). This prevents arcing and pitting of the switch contacts. HR's relay board DID attempt to address this concern in adding a "Zero Cross" detector circuit on the board. Zero-Cross happens every 8msec - HR uses THAT information to control the relays. Problem is - if you look at the technical specs for the relay - the specified "Release" time of the relay they use is noted to be around 10ms. So in reality - they are controlling all of their relays in a manner to make them fail. NOT IF - but When. My HR unit came with a solid state relay (SSR) to control the heater also - problem is (IMO) - they did another marginal design - cheapest as opposed to proper implementation. Solid state relays generate Heat that must be managed for the device to last an expected period of time. HR simply bolted the SSR to the metal frame that holds the Relay Board. They DID NOT use any type of "Thermal Paste" between the SSR and the metal frame to help conduct heat AND the frame is worst heatsink possible. Their solution is Better that using a relay but not as good as it could have been.

Quick question. You have the premier pump for your original freeze dryer, and now have the Premier XL pump for your new Pro dryer. Which would you say is the louder of the 2 pumps? I have the Lg Freeze dryer with the original Premier pump. While it's not "loud" the continuous drone of the pump does tend to grate on your nerves, after a while. With drying cycles that could take 20-30+ hours, that is a long time to deal with the noise, if the dryer is used close to any living space. I originally took this in to consideration, when I purchased my large, and purpose built a processing area into my garage, but, having recently had shoulder surgery I notice it a whole lot more, now that I am "confined" to the house. Anyway, thanks for the vids...I've been learning a lot (especially for correcting old habits, I learned as a kid). Please keep up the good work.

Customer service is far from impressive based on my experience. I'm a business owner who owns several and I never ask for anything. Very impersonal.
