Harvard University Report finds that South Africa is heading towards a failed state

A new research report out of Harvard University in the United States finds that it's painfully clear that South Africa is performing poorly, exacerbated by problems of inequality and exclusion.
The two-year study comes from the institution's Growth Lab which examines issues of economic growth and development policy.

Take a minute to consider as well that South African banks have been colluding with International players to manipulate the RAND since 2007. 27 BANKS most across western countries colluding to do this. Why are they targeting the RAND? what kind of social climate are they trying to create within South Africa. The Private sector as well colluding with international conglomerates to manipulate the Economy and we are not questioning that? This should be at the top off minds. Please read more and look at this more critically.

That's a pretty cruel statement on your part. Most governments worldwide, and the ANC is no exception to this, are not voted in by a majority of a country's citizens; but rather by a majority of those who vote in an election. Children and minors under 18 can't vote and they make up a sizeable part of our population. Of those who can vote, some choose not to or are not able to get to the polls, and some vote for parties other than the ANC. How is it acceptable to wish harm on people who have nothing to do with the current government? Because that's what you are effectively doing when you say that ANC voters deserve what happens to them; because when a country fails, most people in that country suffer regardless of who they did or didn't vote for. Glad I'm not your friend. Get a heart, why don't you.

How does it even make sense for you to say we have been a failed state for some time when "failed" means being totally non-operational. The US and a lot of western countries have far bigger problems than SA and they have had them for a while but they are never referred to as failed states, why ?

No, I live in the UK. We have water coming out our taps, we have electricity, we have free education, free health care and unemployment is low despite the economy shrinking. We have a cost of living crisis that is due to banks and big companies exploiting Russia/ Ukraine war. They making huge profits overcharging on food and electricity and gas. This can change if you have a political party ready to rein them in. Conservative party is on its way out because they are for the rich and big companies. You cannot compare these countries to SA, because the state is also functional. Police and criminal justice system works and politicians are held accountable as are criminals.

Venezuela went from being one of the wealthiest and progressive economies in the world to being the begging basket of South America and this is what the current South African government has done. You cannot shut down the single most creative element of your population who build companies and create jobs and enforce Black Economic Empowerment and Affirmative Action policies on them and when they complain you tell them to go back to Europe. All the whites in Zimbabwe left and all that's left of that once thriving country is an empty shell.

Remove the barriers imposed by government which end up pushing away investors. Billions of dollars are sitting overseas waiting to pour into the country and create lot of sustainable job opportunities. Learn from China, industrialize South Africa, don't even talk about government project like tenders. People need proper long term employment not short term. In return the country will have less crime because more people will be employed and also more tax for government. If government is still more interested in the battle of color, we will never achieve what China have achieved
