Harvard & Columbia Traverse

Mount Harvard is the third-highest summit of the Rocky Mountains of North America and the U.S. state of Colorado. The prominent 14,421-foot (4395.6 m) fourteener is the highest summit of the Collegiate Peaks and the fourth-highest summit in the contiguous United States. The 14,077-foot (4,291 m) fourteener Mount Columbia is a high mountain summit whose ridge connects to Mount Harvard to make this trail a loop. Just over 6,000 feet elevation gain and 15 miles to complete this traverse.
A challenging and beautiful route for more experienced mountain travelers. The traverse between Harvard and Columbia has NO TRAIL. Some cairns exist, but good route-finding skills are essential. Once committing to the traverse, the only safe way out is OVER the summit of either Harvard or Columbia. Consider weather and energy levels carefully before committing, and research the route in advance!
