Harthill Reservoir’s new Barrier, litter picking and more maintenance done..

Another one of my daily rounds and today the missus joined me. It’s quite a nice walk so anybody wanting a visit please feel free.
I’ve had confirmation from Biffa that they have a contract recipient for the Bin and it is being paid for. The C&RT, council, sailing club or lease holders don’t know anything about it so whoever it is, well, thank you lol. But as usual it’s already filling up with mattresses🤷🏼‍♂️
A nice chap named Phil White on Facebook messaged me to say he’d seen more litter left at pond 3 and I was quick to get up there and remove it. Phil had already taken some bits with him to the bin on his visit so a massive thank you Phil mate.
I always keep bin bags in the car so every visit I have one in my pocket for these few bits people keep leaving. But another productive hour keeping the pegs clean and a lovely sight to see the Res coated in frost and snow. The biggest addition is the new barrier between 3 and 2 which is a nice new metal barrier with numerous mounting points on the dam outlet. Huge thank you to MEM Fisheries and C&RT for getting things done as quickly and effectively as you are doing.
Other than that another clear sight at the Res for you all and still plenty of fish showing in Pond 3 if any of you are wanting to wet a line.

It kills me too mate. How they can’t just shove it in their kit and take it home. But thank you Paul, I’d really love to run the place now I know it inside and out. I’ve covered all the legal stuff too which has helped me understand the finances of the place. I’ll be back on that bank as soon as it’s back open so if you’re up there come and have a chin wag👍🏼

Hi ben. Those screw type things look like bivvy pegs for screwing into platforms. I've never seen red ones before but thats what they look like

I thought they might be something like that. Not a massive fan of them screwing into the platforms but they are a cracking bit of kit. Definitely worth keeping some on you as the plastic hooks are solid moulded plastic👏🏼
