Great video! TheNov!! At about 0:45 there's a view of the a small water fall, on the right!! If you look carefully there are small gate(or something like gates) That's where that canal goes down! From the dam wall...about 500metres down stream there is a picnic spot! When I was there..down river, on the right hand side..We followed some monkey's that stole our tomatoes🤔 As we climbed up the embankment through the under growth we came across a concrete wall +-7foot high, ( the monkey's were gone)😂 We climbed this wall and it turned out to be a concrete canal comming from the direction of the dam wall! We climbed into the canal, it was about 5 or 6 foot wide and had about 2 foot of water in it, so we walked in the canal ,away from the dam. Every 300 metres or so there was a water gate which was closed. We climbed about four water gates and eventually decided to move on! What I'd like to ask you is, if you go to Harties again! Could you look for that canal with your drone? It's on the right hand side after the dam wall...there is a little water fall (tiny trickle) I'm not sure where that water canal originates , but it must be from the dam!! Do you think you can do a Recce in that area please?😲

Thanks! I lived in hartjies for while and never got to see that part of the dam before. Next time I'm in the area I'll be sure to do a bit of recon, I'll be sure to send you a video of it. We had a bit of trouble getting to the wall itself that day, so we were about 1.5 km away, didn't have line of sight on the drone, and didn't want to loose connection to it. @@thenov_1905 That's great! There use to be a private entrance...pay a fee! To that picnic spot? If you come from Joburg side. You go over the wall(dam to you left, river to your right. Continue on till the first right turn. From there the private gate...(back in the day) was like a cattle gate on the right hand side about 500 to 1000 metres along that road! Was a sand road that takes you to the river. Picnic spots and toilets there. From there you look up towards the damwall. If the dam gates are closed it's peaceful down there!! If you are on the bridge you can travel down there quite easily 1.5km with a C.L.Sight! Good luck🐒

They can do something about it, but they could not care less - too busy stealing the little money left in state coffers!

Nice Video - why not ask all with a view on dam to contribute monthly for cleaning up for a while Im sure all will do . The municipality dont have money - they cant even fix the potholes and water pipes in town . If someone will just take the lead , Im sure almost every one with a view wil contribute . ( Just such a pity that common bikers ( common = those idiots who do it ) think that the road to the tunnel is a race track with their noisy back firing exp turbo toys -- why - open your eyes and see its a residential street …… and then to all ladies and gets who drive all the way from Gauteng on weekends to come and take selfies at the tunnel , and other nice places around - pls dont be like the monkeys we have in the mountain - dont throw your rubbish around , stop at the robots at tunnel when red and generally pls behave….
