Two weeks ago my girlfriend purchased the Harry's Razor and four replacement cartridges. I've used it fourteen straight days with the original cartridge and it still feels brand new on my face. It doesn't nick or cut. I love this razor.

So I tried Harry’s for the first time today. I have a rough beard and it gave me a decently close shave, although I think it will take some time getting used to. I normally shave with a single blade or twin blade and 5 blades usually used to cut me here and there. You have to be more careful with your technique with Harry’s but I can tell it’s a quality blade. Very sharp.

I like your no nonsense review style and how you were fair in adjusting your impression over time with usage. A close friend introduced me to Harry’s about a year ago, since then I’ve paid that forward by gifting a set to my son and another friend. I find Harry’s to be a reasonably priced, quality product. I really like Harry’s Shave Gel, even more so now that I’ve learned to use very little and still get a good lather stretching the can out longer. I highly recommend the Post-Shave Balm with Aloe, although a little pricy, I’ve not found better. Keep up the good work on your reviews!

Double edge safety razors have made a huge comeback in recent years, especially since the Gillette commercial. They give a way smoother shave, blades cost way less and don't tug like cartridge ones do, and most of the DE razors themselves are built to last for generations.

Before I started growing out my beard I went from Gillett to Harry's and never looked back. It's a great razor, good lifespan, and amazing shave. Only thing I have negative to say, if you pack it carelessly in a travel bag (I had one for travel when i was in the reserves) the head pops off pretty easy. However that doesnt change how good it is when you shave. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new disposable razor.

I am at 3 weeks of use on mine and it is just now getting dull. I have been very impressed with mine! I do recommend this razor (video explaining more on my wall). I did not have a chrome grip like some others have had, mine is an orange rubber like yours so no slipping. I think the handle is comfy too! I had the same amount of hair storage in the blades as I did any other razor. These blades were awesome IMO and I shaved multiple body parts nearly every day. I can see how the angle bothered you but with legs....no problemo. Oh and I will totally try your trick as I too before Harry's used disposables for a LONG time.

I came from a Wilkerson Safety razor, being taught how to shave by Dad. Then in the 90s, tried the Gillette Mach series. Then in November last year saw the Harry's. The Mach are too expensive to replace. The quality isn't the same for shaving. Harry's is Heaven Sent! Cheap, shaves you good, lasts longer than 3 shaves. No razor burns....great product!

I like that they put time into the packaging, although, there is quite a lot of it. It is nice though. I use the boxes for collar stays, Swiss Army knife, etc. to throw in my luggage. I didn’t care for the angle at all, but then I realized the blade had to “click backward” into place; I was trying to use while locked in the “new-in-box” position. Now, I really like it. Accompanying products are nice too.

Same here for me (in the UK), I tried the Harry (I only do my beard) and the price point was good but adding the points you made all together and my experience I have returned to Gillette Fusion 5, expensive but seems to give for me at least the shave that is best. Good review. PS I agree with you on the (your Review updates 7) ...my son loves the Whirly Ball and a year on still going strong! Also I got the Thin optics after your review and yep, still used daily... great. Deviating slightly... Have you reviewed the NEBO Big Larry? As a pro muscian and out a lot I have gone through over the decades a lot of lights/lanterns. A year on and this one seems to have survived my clumsy tests (I ran over it by accident in the car and it survived without a mark!) and battery life vs the high lumens seems to have gone okay . I'm thinking I may go for the Pro version and leave the standard in the house. be interested if you do a review. Great reviews and bought and not bought on your well constructed and balanced reviews.

I like Harry's razors and blades very much. I like the simplicity of the hinge vs the Gilette blade that seems to have alot going on. .It's well balanced and feels comfortable in the hand. For me, the quality of the shave was slightly better than Gillettes five bladed razor. The sharpness of the blades also seem to last a long time. The one knock I have is that the plastic hinge, whose perfomance I really like, breaks after about 5 days. This is too bad as it renders the razor just about useless. Not sure what I will try next.

I have watched several of your reviews! I like your no-nonsense does it really do it approach! I have tried Harry’s by subscription. I like their shave foam a lot, but it is expensive compared to the product I normally use and also I found it slowed my sink drain! On the razor, using the single blade between my nose and upper lip just does not work well for me, that is not just a Harry’s issue but for all 5 + 1 razors. I much prefer narrow 3 blade razors like Gillette Sensor 3. Even the disposable of that model does a great job for me!

I just picked one of these up today. I bought the razor to strictly use on my head, but once I got it home I noticed a disclaimer on the box that discouraged use on the head, but I'm sure if I looked close enough, any razor of that style will probably say the same, so I did it anyway and it gave a closer shave than gillette razor. I did have a little razor burn, but I'm sure once I use it a few times my scalp will toughen up. Van der hagen safety razor is what I use on my face to clean up my beard.

I just got a Harry's razor from Walmart. I was a subscriber to dollar shave club and I liked them well but my handle broke (it rusted in me with the blade in it my fault completely ). I decided to give Harry's a try. Price point to price point is about the same as Dollar Shave Club. The handle with two blades was $10 just like at Target for you and I ended up getting a four pack of blades which was $9 for 4 which is about the same as Dollar Shave Club. What I like about the cartridge refills is the packaging is awesome. I like how it's put in reusable Packaging. I can use the box to gift one of my many beaded items that I make. I also like the case the cartridges come in way better than Dollar Shave Club. Also what I liked about the starter kit will just call it that it came with a blade cover so if you happen to keep your razor in the shower like I do your blade isn't going to rust nearly as quickly. My problem that I didn't like about it was how to change a blade I've had problems figuring it out but once I did is like oh okay I got this. The other thing that I was skeptical on was how well it would shave my legs. It's been months since I shaved my legs last time I did any hair removal on my legs I used Nair. Not a fan of the smell of Nair or the wait time or dealing with chemicals so I'm went back to shaving. I was highly impressed on how well it handles and coarse hair on my legs and I did use the trimmer blade to make sure that I got all the hair down to the nitty-gritty. The other thing that I didn't care for was how easy it was to Nick myself with the blade. Grand it I nicked myself with any blade whether it's a Disposable Male razor that I got from the Dollar Tree, a disposable female razor that I got from the Dollar Tree, I fancy-schmancy woman's razor from Walmart, or a Harrys Razor. I always Nick myself behind the ankle where your Achilles tendon is Common Pleas for me to Nick. I really like the price point of Harrys Razor and just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I can't use a man's razor. It's funny because women's razors and cartridges I guess that's what they call him are way more expensive than men's and really there is no difference except in this case all my there's a trimmer blade. I like the way to the handle it's very similar to the elite handle I had from Dollar Shave Club. Again will state how I liked the packaging and how reusable the box was. I can use the starter kit box for gift if I wanted to and as for the cartridge box I do have a handmade beaded keychain that I made as a gift in it. I would love to try the Harry's shave lotion if it's available because I absolutely love the shave lotion from Dollar Shave Club it smells amazing and it worked really really well I kind of want to see how Harry's works out. So if any you ladies out there reads this I strongly suggest giving Harry's a try there is no shame and using a male razor.

First week with Harry's Razor, Chrome pack from Costco. Have been using a Gillette Twin for years, but it's not available anymore. Harry's is sharp and smooth. Had to adjust to the angle, but I can manage. Stays sharp after a week of head and face shaving. I use moisturizing shampoo for my head and face. No nicks so far. The Costco pack has 13 razor heads and a Chrome handle. The handle could be a bit larger, but I'll adjust to that too. So far, so good!

Didn't clog up, easy to rinse and very good close shave without razor burn or any irritation. Mind you I used cremo shaving cream. And still didn't clog. And easily rinsed as clean as when I took it from package Gillette has lost a customer. Thank you for your honing tip. Will definitely be doing it. Will post back, let you, others know how long Harry's disposable razor lasted. As always another great review!😊

I too have the bald look and I just recently bought the kit and put it head to head against the Gillette 5 aqua grip. Harry's blades didn't last 3 shaves for me and I noticed that even the brand new cartridge didn't really get all that close. Especially after the 3rd use. The Gillette simply smoked it and their blades seem to last quite a bit longer.

Denim works about as well as your arm (or better) for stropping. I've used razors for months by stropping. I'm just starting to use a Harry's razor and I'm getting the sense that it doesn't stay sharp for as long as other brands. I agree with your impression of the weird angle of the razor with respect to the handle.

Awesome review, glad it worked for you. I had the opposite experience. Harry's Blades has literally destroyed my face. I am 26, been shaving for years, but this blade hurts my face. I wish they had a blade for sensitive skin.

I’ve recently gotten into wet shaving and just picked up a Harry’s today just for shaving my head. Once home I noticed on the bottom of the box it says “our blades are designed for shaving your face and not for head shaving” Seemed to work for you tho, so I’ma give it a try.

Great video, however, how do you know when to change the blade? I started using Harry's razor after using Fusion razor and blades for years, their blades have a blue strip that turns white over time after using, indicating it's time to change the blade, so how is Harry's different?

Hey man, I've been using a similar technique for maintaing the blade, but I use a paper towel or tissue to run the razor head in the opposite direction so that excess hair out of the blades...leading to the razor lasting a long long time.

Finally a man that knows how to review a quality razor. I do no own a Harrys razor but i am a subscriber to dollar shave club. I get 5 blades every 3 months and there good. I prolong the last catridge before the new one comes in with a scrap piece of denim. My dad taught me that trick a long time ago. Would you ever considering doing a review on straight razors?

You can still order them online now and now they have a different subscriptions ranging from every month to every 3 months depending how often you shave . For people like myself we don't have this in our stories so online is a great option for only $15 very reasonable

@theengineer70 Mate you should look into double edge razor shaving aka a safety razor Far farrrr better shave and you have the choice of roughly a hundred different blades you can get for them You can even buy blade sample packs that come with a selection of all the most popular blades, but cartridge razors are rubbish

Thanks for the video. I noticed when you demoed your honing technique you did it in the opposite direction as the video example. You went down arm. He went up arm. Skin has a grain based on the direction of hairgrowth. It might make a slight difference. Will try it myself and join the honing tribe. Anyway thanks the great video.

I just started using Harry's. And it's the closest shave I've ever had. The technique I use to keep blades sharp: Dip blades in olive oil and rest it in it's case. Still sharp as ever😎❤😎

I also purchased Harry’s razors from target in 2017 was really hoping they would work well I don’t know what it was but they seem to pull the hair out especially on the sides of my head and back of my head and neck I have been using for years the Gillette fusion Pro glide and that is just like butter smooth But it does not sound like you had any of these issues with your review

Personally I like Harry's blades a lot. What I like most is the feel when shaving with Harry's, for me the blades have the right amount of drag to feel like they're cutting hair, and giving a close shave. Blades that glide effortlessly over my face with no pull just aren't satisfying to shave with. They may give a close shave, but they don't feel like they are. You have to be careful with the trimmer blade though, using it to get right under my nose, I've cut myself a few times. Definitely need a light touch using it

I'm new to Harry's. My wife bought it for me, and I have to say, it's freakin' awesome! However, I do want to see just how long the blades last, because I just shave my head with it. I'll definitely try that arm trick as well. Awesome video bro.

Five blades are hard to wash out to the point I went electric “Series 7” from Braun. I’m thinking about going back to a three blade manual or using a safety razor because of expense.

It varies on the person. You can either use the same as the razor or you can stick to other shaving creams or gels. Using Harry’s razor and Barbasol shaving cream would be great. Also using Harry’s shave gel or cream is a great idea. Again, it depends on what type of cream or gel you want to use

One minor correction, Harry’s was not initially a subscription service. That was a later addition to their product line. They kinda prefer you do it that way now, but you’ve always been able to buy their products without a subscription.

I agree with you on the angle and almost 90º rotation of the head. But, as you said, it does grow on you. Another thing, for those of us without a mustache, it's harder to get under the nose than it is with a double blade. One way to help get around this is to pull the nose up to get up just inside the nostrils. Another way to make the blades last is to wash the hair out (which cleans the hair out, similar to what the technique you show does), dry it off with a towel and then I put mine in front of the bathroom fan to get the last of the moisture off of it. This helps keep the blades clean and sharp longer.

I agree angle and flex were top things I hated about this. Along with dullness of blades (not getting all hair) and the moisture strip felt dry as a bone. Maybe I’m spoiled with pro glide but these were basically trash to me. I wouldn’t use it again unless it was the literal last blade I had lol
