Like a Terry Venables, and have got England playing vibrant football, which throughout his career was his trademark. Vibrant football is not something you normally associate with Southgate, however expressive the players at his disposal might be. Game against Denmark and second half against Serbia, are cases in point.

World class players need other world class players around them, Harry Kane is a good goal scorer but he's nowhere near the level of Foden in terms of technicality and movement, same with Jude Bellingham biggest hypejob in world football. Southgate playing a back 4 instead of inverting the fullbacks and just putting Trent in midfield is silly. Play a back 3 and invert the fullbacks to create overloads in midfield. Play Watkins to run in behind the opposition defence. Play Foden in the half spaces and give Bellingham a free role with Saka cutting inside.

Trent created more chances (3) and played more line breaking passes in the final 3rd (5) than any other England player last night.............................. But nobody will mention that for some reason 🤔

Fact is he created the most chances even though he was subbed after 51 mins. Southgates tactics are the problem. Trent is capable of playing in the midfield but the manager just isn’t good enough to get the best out the players he’s got

he's a RB who creates overloads and presses in midfield, he has plenty of experience in a box midfield. not a completely open 3 man midfield.

Gallagher replacing TAA in midfield is the football equivalent of being in hospital in the 1970's and hearing that Jimmy Saviles' visit is cancelled, but you can hear the sound of a didgeridoo coming down the corridor.

I actually feel second hand embaressement listening to Rednapp. So Trent who has won every major club honor in world football is being crucified along with Foden. Kane, Rice and Saka were absolutely abominable and might I add it was Kanes bad pass that led to the Denmark goal...dont get any criticism whatsoever from Redknapp. Lets all ignore the real problem called Southgate then shall we Harry? I swear if he was not english he would be getting criticism from every media outlet in England.

As a Palace supporter I'm proud of Marc Guéhi England's best player at the moment, the only downside is I think he may be at a new club next season, if McGuire can cost £80million Guéhi would cost at least that.

I used to be a right back. Playing central midfield is a completely different role.

Someone needs to explain how this performance is his fault. Play him at wing back with Walker behind in a back three, maybe, and allow him to get into that right channel. He's the best passer England have by a mile, and his crossing is sensational. But no, it's on him, according to many. Until you need to CREATE CHANCES and then he's sitting on the bench with Gallagher on in his place. Do me a favour.

The only saving grace so far is, that if England fail southgate will go,and then someone can come in to get the best out of this team for the next world cup before it's to late.

The problem may be the amount of respect the players have for Southgate and his coaching staff , most of the squad at club level have exceptional managers and coaches with superb pre game plans focusing on the oppositions strengths and weaknesses combined with a match day adjustment plan , Southgate's only former profile job as a manager involved relegating Middlesborough and his post match nervous nelly interview after the Denmark draw was roughly the same jargon he spouted out to Borro fans before they went down , thank you the English FA they chose this man and backed his coaching staff choices , no big team at club level would ever get away with this as it would simply impact on them financially once their stadiums had emptied , the main blame is on the English FA because win or loose they feel and prove they are not accountable to anyone .

Trent was going to be the scapegoat from the moment they set foot on the plane. Play him at right back and accept the pros and cons that come with him or stick him on the bench. Midfielder he is not, but Southgate must be shown the door after this tournament. His England side play that deep there is literally no forward pass for anyone in midfield to play.

If you can't find a way to get the best out of a player who's won every trophy there is in club football then that's on the coach.

It’s not all on Trent. It’s a team game and across the board it was a low energy performance. It didn’t look like the shape / positioning was right and we were struggling to get a hold of the game. We’ve been afforded opposition who haven’t punished us so in a way we’ve been allowed to experiment and see how things work.

In my opinion England should go to a 343 formation as we don't have Luke Shaw on the left for the width. Id stick 3 centre backs at the back with stones dunk and guye. Then have walker on the right flank and tripier on the left with rice and Bellingham in the centre of midfield then up front Gordon Kane Bowen. That is a lot more balanced I think foden needs taken out of the limelight and saka aswel and with Bowen and Gordon we get more energy and pace and going forward and also tracking back if we need to

TAA main quality is playing killer long range crosss and passes to forward players and switching play.
