ObiWan Kenobi That just brings us to a different question, why didn't any of the Hogwarts teachers, or anyone in the Wizarding world for that matter, adopt Harry Potter? Of course, it's possible they couldn't have predicted the horrible treatment he would receive, but even so it would have been far better for the chosen one to grow up surrounded by magic and receive training from an early age. Safer, too.

Sea Raider If I remember correctly the reasoning behind Harry being left with the Dursleys (at least according to Dumbledore at some point of the book series, Order of the Phoenix maybe?) is that the protection against Voldemort that Lily gave Harry when she died can last until he is 17 (?) if he stays close to her blood (meaning Petunia who is Lily's sister). ALSO can we talk about how Lily is like such a nice, timeless and pretty name but Petunia straight up sounds like the baby just came out of the womb looking like the horse-faced raisin that she is at age 40??? Like they're sisters with a relatively small age-gap, why did their parents choose names with such different vibes
