there was honestly a period where kewell was not far off bale level. i was so excited when he signed for liverpool. scored a few world class goals but injury ruined his spell for us

As a Arsenal fan Kewell was a beast. From 99-01 this guy was untouchable one of my favourite ever left wingers ive watched in the EPL. Its a shame he got injured this guy was a very special talent. Thank you for the video

@@Ochola90 I'm five years late but injuries killed his career and he ended up in Australia. Did quite well and is now a football pundit over here. From a Leeds fan in Oz.

What Harry did at Leeds was absolutely fantastic, especially the way he sniffed out goals, he scored for fun, what a talent and he was offered contracts from massive clubs; Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Milan and Barcelona and it was so great we got him to join Liverpool, but very unfortunately he couldn't bring that goal finding ability with him that he had at Leeds obviously due to so many injuries between 2003-2008, he showed signs at Liverpool and scored a few great goals and made some good assists, but at Liverpool, he wasn't "Harry Kewell" because of the curse called Injuries, I have never seen injuries curse someone in my life as it did to Harry Kewell at Liverpool and as a die-hard LFC fan, it was just simply a big shame that was his case on Merseyside.

Looking back he was quite injury prone when at Leeds, he had a massive spell on the sidelines in the 2000-2001 season we didn't get to see him whilst Spring that season then when fit it was when he felt he could be arsed to play. Always happens at Leeds we either create or find a great player then they go and shit on us. But then we don't know exactly what goes on behind the scenes. Cantona going to Man U was the worst I can think of, when they wanted Lee Chapman in the first place but got Eric instead.

Johnathan Woodgates injuries wrecked his career. A far better defender than Rio ferdinand.

What a player... brought so much joy to Leeds United fans, and from what I hear, many still don’t like him for leaving. He was a special talent, and injuries at Liverpool destroyed some of it.

Was in Japan, 97-03. Whenever I talked with my sister in England, she'd always rave about this kid. I came home (not for footballing reasons :) ) and he signed for my boyhood club, Liverpool. And then the injuries came... Great compilation. First time I've ever seen most of these goals. Amazing player.

He was top 5 player in the world at his peak from 1999-2003, ive watched these highlights so many times, he was absolute class

Too many great players from that era to say he was top 5. You had Ronaldo in his prime, Rivaldo, Figo, Zidane, Henry. Not sure he was better than those guys but he was absolutely world class 1999-2001. I do remember around that era, there was talk he could play for England because of his father and that he would have absolutely walked onto the English starting XI. Can´t dispute that imo.

One season he had 17 goals 20 assists. Not bad for a winger back then

Kewell was absolutely awesome at Leeds. Around 1998-2001, he was the only player I saw that Jaap Stam at Man Utd had real problems dealing with...remember one game at Old Trafford where, even though Man Utd won, the MOTD pundits spent most of analysis looking at how he ran Stam ragged all game.

He left us under a cloud and I know some Leeds fans are unforgiving with what he went on to do but I'm looking at the positives. He didn't do many tap ins, nearly all his goals are outstanding finishes and I was lucky enough to witness some of them. For that alone I'm grateful, so thanks Harry for some brilliant memories. MOT.

One of my all time favourite players! Shame with the injuries! But interesting to see at towards the end of the clip he stopped celebrating after a goal, I will always miss that kid with that brilliant smile at the first half of the video

You know still being a Leeds fan today you lots of us don't really like him after going to Galatasaray but after watching this you just forget all that he did for the club and that's why I still love him.

He follows LFC and GALA on instagram but not Leeds lol.Btw Harry was not the one who should've paid a price for the homicides in Istanbul.Gala is not guilty as well.Few bastards did it and we still dont know why.Maybe your fans provocated them.I remember like yesterday how our fans welcomed your team in the stadium,and players came to the pitch with flowers dedicated to the memory of two leeds fans...

World class goal at 7:19!I've been a Leeds fan since the late 60s but sometimes the stupidity of some other Leeds fans annoys me. When the club's has been hit by sanctions in the past because of the actions of a few idiot supporters Leeds fans get up in arms saying it's unfair to blame the club for the actions of a few people. If Leeds Utd (the club) is not to blame for the actions of a few fans then why blame Galatasaray football club for the actions of a couple of their fans? And if you agree that Galatasaray is not to blame for the actions of a few supporters then you can't blame Kewell for signing for them!Kewell could at times be arrogant and lack motivation but he was one of the most talented players to pull on a Leeds shirt and deserves more respect.

Absolutely superb, especially at 7.20. A real shame Australia wasn't qualifying for the world cup at this time. He was at his best during his time at Leeds.

They should have, but the qualifying process was against them. They wound up in playoffs against good South American sides IIRC, even after topping their group.

They're back!

The Leeds team of Kewell,Bowyer,Hart,Woodgate ,Radebe,Bridges etc was sensational before the spirit got ruined by the court case & unnecessary overspending by egotist Ridsdale!!! Such a shame Michael Bridges suffered so much for so long with injuries...he was a brilliant striker!!!

I still remember that season when leeds with Kewell, Harte, Viduka sit on the top the premier league until United beat them 1-0 with Yorke's goal. Just like yesterday

The year Sheffield Wednesday went down.

As a leeds fan, he was one of the best young players through the door at elland road. But to sign for galatasaray after he played in a match where their thugs murdered 2 Leeds United fans. Absolutely unforgivable. These days I do my best not to say his name too loud in case it sours the food in my kitchen. Fucking Judas.

Kewell so talented shame he ended up with the vilest club on the planet but loved watching him in his prime

Leeds fault. He would have stayed except Leeds didn't put a contract in front of him to sign... so he had to go to Liverpool. That was when they were financially stuffed and still hiding how bad they were.
