TNN's "Hidden Heroes" edition with Harry Hyde......the rise and fall and rise again of a great crew chief. Audio and video are not synced well, but it is understandable. Diamond P sports is the intellectual property

What's ironic is Harry quit working for JD Stacy when he found out he was a crook. But then years later went to work for Hendrick who was at the time conspiring, bribing, and laundering money in cahoots with Honda executive's, he even purchased a Honda executive a house. Hendricks was later convicted of 13 counts of bribery, conspiracy, and money laundering. But I'm sure Harry didn't know Hendrick was a crook.

Mr.HARRY HYDE WAS AND IS THE BEST RACE BUILDER THAT nascar will ever had. I think race fans really miss these days. That was the people that made the best sport in the world, but the owners of nascar had to mess with a good thing. The drivers and the team's and car owners know it now, but don't say anything about it. Because of the love of money.

Alot of these youngsters have no clue how great of a Racer Tim Richmond was and how awesome Harry Hyde was. Earnhardt would have never won 7 Cups. They were like Knaus and Johnson but Tim was pure Racer like Tony Stewart could drive and win in anything. See if can find Tim Richmond at Riverside dance that 3400 Lb Stock Car around there it's pure beauty , for a racer anyway..

Aric Snyder or you mean Gordon/Evernham . My God only a few of us realize had it not been for the dreaded CHASE (which has ruined the sport) , Jeff Gordon would be holding 7 cups and not Jimmie. In fact their championships would be flip-flopped with Jimmie holding 4 and Jeff holding 7. I actually think NASCAR did to try and keep someone from winning 7 (so Earhhardt's 7 would be safe) and it backfired . Just my opinion. Consistency means nothing . That's how Earnhardt won most of his championships. Very seldom did he win the most races in a season . That's why he raced with a cracked sternum as well as many other broken bones . Cause he knew if he missed any races it could devastate his championship hopes . Kyle Busch missed 11 races and won the championship. What a load of crap. The system wasn't broken until they messed with it .

Aric Snyder that's crazy you say that . I was never a NASCAR fan until I married into a racing family. My father in law watched racing instead of football . So the very first race I ever watched was the inaugural brickyard 400 . My father in law told me the 1st thing I had to do was pick a driver They had a big segment on Gordon during the pre race so I said I'll take that Gordon kid cause I thought his car was the coolest looking on the track and picked him based solely on that. Pretty good pick I guess . I saw every win except his 1st one which was the Coca cola 600 ... I'm sorry if I came off brash . It's just really depressing knowing he would have 7 championships and right up there with Petty and Earnhardt . For the younger generation of NASCAR I'm afraid they won't know how great Jeff was ...

Wikipedia--In May 1977, Stacy purchased the former K&K Insurance team from Nord Krauskopf. He was convinced to purchase the team by its crew chief Harry Hyde, a friend and former Stacy employee. Stacy inherited the team's driver Neil Bonnett, with the team changing numbers from 71 to 5 Bonnett would score the first two victories of his career that year. The second of those victories, at Ontario Motor Speedway, would be the last NASCAR victory for a Chrysler vehicle until Dodge reentered the sport in 2001. The team expanded to a second team in 1978, but went winless and was dissolved by the beginning of the 1979 season Stacy would later be sued by Hyde and Ferrel Harris, one of the drivers of the second team car

+davidallenroth It would really would have been interesting had Tim not messed himself with pneumonia and then AIDS, him and Harry would have had a championship or two together. There's no doubt in my mind Dale Earnhardt or Jeff Gordon or maybe even Jimmie Johnson would've not had as many championships or wins they had/has right now. If you go back and look at the super talented race drivers that were killed in non related racing activities, there's a couple that sticks out in a mind that would have just as many wins or championships as the three I just pointed out: Tim Richmond, Davey Allison and probably Alan Kulwicki.
