Here's a behind-the scenes look at Harry Harrison's 30th Anniversary in New York radio. The footage is from WCBS Channel 2. Harry had a few guests in the studio including Bill O'Reilly who at that time was working for "Inside Edition." Also with him are Phil Pepe, Mr. G (Irv Gikofsky), Debra Wetzel, and Engineer Al (Al Vertucci).

Living in NJ i can say these guys are truly missed every day
My Mom passed away in 1992, but I have vivid memories of her listening to this station when I waa a child

RIP: “Morning Mayor” Harry Harrison 😰 This video also includes Mr. G, one of Harry’s former buddy who now does the weather on WPIX-TV (channel 11). This was taped at the WCBS-FM studio.
What I would have done to be part of that crew. No better way to live life getting paid and most of all appreciated for doing something you love so much that it just comes naturally. Said it a million times and maybe more but I just miss that whole crew so much. I literally listen to most of these vintage videos every day. Thanks for posting.

While I never heard him live on the radio, I heard him through airchecks that were sent to me from a New York aircheck collector. Harry made his audience part of his show and treated everyone as if they were his closest friend.

Notice Phil Pepe's reaction at 11:20 when he hears the caller say, "his name is Jack Murphy." (As in Jack Murphy stadium...)
I didn't realize until recently that CBS FM was at Black Rock sharing facilities with 880. Were they a story above/below 880; then moved out the same time in 2000 to the Viacom HQ right before moving to Hudson Sq a decade ago?
