Whoever posted this back onto KZread, I truly applaud you because he has given so much to the world of civil rights and should be celebrated forever. I enjoyed this interview when he went back home to Jamaica and gave his true appeal to the residents of his homeland especially his aunt who saw his greatness. She herself had longevity and so did he.

I have every album of Mr. Belafonte's but it's humanitarianism that means most to me. There is a great line that ties into this interview from "All In the Family" when Archie tells Meathead that - "Everyone knows that Belafonte isn't Black". If you think of it - he recorded a Calypso album in White 1956 that became the first album to ever sell one million copies.

I'm 32. I grew up as a white girl with white parents. My dad was my step dad who served in veit Nam. He has over 5000 records. Ingrew up listening to everything. Every kind of music. I was raised to appreciate people for their accomplishments. It's hard for people to understand white people who grew up not knowing we were white. It's not until the last 10 years I realized how some people view me as a white person. I've never felt I was white. I was a person. And I've always loved people. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that

The more people talk about race the more different we appear. When we stop talking about race and treat each other equally, the world changes. Problem is ego and greed. Lots of black people only care about getting free s!it from the government. Where is my free sh!t when the Romans fed my ancestors to lions? We don’t owe anyone anything. Generations are responsible for the previous. Once people get that through their thick heads, problems go away. Let’s all stop being greedy and love one another.
