My go: Harry Baker, Your mom is a gary taker, Your dad is Danny Baker, And if you and Mark Grist were to run into each other you'd create a packet of quavers. Couldn't resist.

Wow, this choked me up! I've been completely isolated for 3 months now, and it's taking a toll. This poem hit a spot for sure! Thanks Harry Baker.

just heard this on radio 4 and it welled me - thank you - tender and tear making - I'm using tender music to allow tears each morning but today your poetry did the job - the sacred power of crying

3 years ago... As I write this, it's about 5:30 PM, Dec 31st in New York, a few hours before another year starts. I wonder if it would help or hurt if we'd known then how things would go. Having said that, I'd very much like to know where we'll be 3 years from now. How would it affect how we do things? How would it change things? If we'd known back then, would it have gotten people to wear their masks, "get the jab" & isolate properly? I doubt it, bc that takes logic & understanding of the situation. People are sometimes still wearing masks. Mainly those who are immunocompromised. They're doing it mainly for themselves; a positive sort of self-first thinking, much different than me-first selfishness. There's something about people who have been through adversity (of any sort) before. There's a quiet knowing, a touch of alert peacefulness, a resolve. When the next thing happens, that will be us. It will be up to us to comfort those who are scared & lost simply bc they've not been through anything before. Those before us dealt with the deniers, the selfish, the opportunists. We'll do just fine. You'll see. Happy 2024 🫂
