That is because the 1917 Letters Patent refer to the Male lines of heredity. Anne was offered Titles for her kids (declined) but it would have meant a new Letters Patent being issued to allow that to happen. Interestingly the Letters Patent written by HMTQ in 2011 or 2012 for William's Heirs did not include any provisions for a Title for any of Haznointegrity's future kids.

A better model is Prince Edward and Sophie's children. They were grandchildren of the monarch through the male line, thus eligible to be Princess Louise and Prince James from birth. However, the parents made a decision to leave it up to the children themselves when they turned 18 years old whether they wanted their birthright title and the responsibilities it comes with. Their children are currently styled after the children of an Earl - Lady and Viscount. Exactly what Harry and Meghan should have accepted from birth for their kids as Duke & Duchess, but they were holding out for Charles to be head. Meghan wants Prince or Princess titles because in America this has the most visibility and weight. It's a marketing tactic to bring prestige to the family and increase branding opportunities.

Don't forget that Harry remarked that his father KING CHARLES lll and PRINCE OF WALES WILLIAM are trapped in the ROYAL FAMILY . In my opinion Harry and his wife hoped that with that remark, it would make the then Prince Charles and Prince William would vacate their Royal positons. I don't think they are expecting perks, but I do think they are expecting fairness and equality in how the rules for succession and titles go and those rules are clear. This announcement is quite interesting to me becuase MM spoke about that when she did that Oprah interview. Alot of things that ppl try to say she lied about were actually true and time is revealing it all.

Archie and Lilibet should not be known as Prince and Princess either because their parents chose to walk away from Royal life!
