I wouldn't mind signing autographs for people in public like that. But it's the entitlement of some people like this guy filming that gets me. He reminds me of what are known as frauditors that go around harassing police officers and other government workers, and filming in areas they shouldn't be to get them to react in a certain way for their video content.

Stalking has everything to do with unwanted attention/presence and nothing to do with the venue. I feel sorry for people that are famous and have to go this! Having total strangers come up to you and invade your personal space and go through this strange ritual of having to write your name on photos or books or posters or other strange/irrelevant objects ( like the guitar pick guard in this video ). I'm sure the famous people are grateful for the positive vibes by the true fans for the most part, but at the same time they can't tell if people want autographs just to sell on Ebay to make a quick buck, or if they are real supporters. I'm sure that most famous people are nice under normal circumstances, but they are forced to be defensive and sometimes hostile when they are followed everywhere they go in their private lives by people who want to shove a piece of paper and pen in their faces ( and then their hostile behaviour becomes a viral video on KZread ). Several years ago I asked a famous hockey player for an autograph, and I'll never forget the sour look he gave me. I've never asked for or wanted anyone's autograph since then. It just seems like they are being drained of positive energy whenever they sign autographs.

And what if they do sell them? Harrison Ford worked out a deal where he made MILLIONS from getting a percentage of Star Wars action figures and toys. Some of these guys are only doing the same... making money. If people want to buy signed memorabilia from them then so be it, they've clearly seen an opportunity the same way he did thru merchandise. Like a bunch of vultures. Then you wonder why people don’t sign autographs for fans. I met him about a year ago at the Van Nuys California airport. I was walking to the FBO while my plane was being fueled and was passing him standing by his plane. He was waiting for some people to arrive and a commented on the color green of the aircraft. We started talking and he motioned me to follow him into the hangar to show me his other planes and helicopter. We must have talked for 30 minutes before his wife and a couple people showed up. I thanked him for the time and he said thanks for mine. We exchanged phone numbers and he said “ let’s go flying sometime “. I didn’t run up to him like a crazy fan or make him uncomfortable. I knew who it was and knew his plane because in the industry we meet well known people and know who is a pilot or who has a certain tail number etc. I haven’t flown with him but he did send me a text several weeks later telling me he was going to be in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the July 4th holiday and wanted to know if I was coming through that area. I was flying several trips from my home in Colorado to different places but Jackson Hole wasn’t on my list. Eventually it will happen but I’m not worried. Definitely a nicer guy than what you saw on the video.

David Lindsay yes this is how it really works. 100% guarantee you wouldn’t want to be harassed by a mob every time you went out in public. Think before you write ur comment.

@@Ethan839 No, it is not. You think HF is ever going to do a signing and/or photo op at a con? $1000 send ins are all you can expect. hopefully that'll happen again. As far as me being famous....Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't like it. I would accept that it is a part of the deal. As HF said "you give up certain things and gain certain things in return what I have gained is substantial". He obliges for as long and as much as he wants to. You don't understand the way it works. exhibit A. guy went up to Paul Simon at baggage claim asked for an ink, he said "nah" and waved his hand away. About 10 secs later a guy walked up and asked him Simon said "Nah" The guy said "Oh please I'm a huge fan" Simon said "Ah ok" as he was signed he nodded his head toward the guy walking off and said "he must not have wanted it too bad". Sometimes you have to work for it a little. In this video going in HF sees Radio, remembers him, and Radio doesn't push it, when HF comes back out he signs for Radio, knowing what he does with them, and then the other people get what they can. If you want an HF ink, Be there. Do what it takes. I did. I got my 2 inks and photo with, and it went great. I got a one on one meet in NYC with HF in 98. I can also say it was a positive experience for me, AND him. So you should think, and know who you are dealing with before you comment.

David Lindsay he probably signed it to get him to go away. Not like you would care though. You seem to be taking the side of the paparazzi. What I find most disturbing about this video is that Mr. Harrison was just trying to go to some appointment he had when he was bombarded by all of these people. And you can complain all you want about how it really works, my point still stands. And guess what, if he doesn’t go to conversations then you don’t get things signed. That simple. Celebrities are not gods, they are people, you can live without Harrison’s signature on ur Star Wars lunch box. I realize though the only reason you are saying these things is because you yourself do it, but just put yourself in their shoes, imagine ur life but with the added mess. I’m done arguing with you though because I know you are not gonna change your mind about this and I have said what I have needed to say. Have a nice day.

@@Ethan839 LOL. Autograph getters are not Papparazi. He is going to an appointment, and signed some autographs, as is expected when he is in NYC. He saw Radio, he knows Radio, the guy has been a collector and seller for decades, the celebs know him, they sign for him when they don't sign for anybody else, his had bit parts in movies like Zoolander. He's like a mascot, they consider him good luck when he is at film sets. HF doesn't go to conventions. So I did my homework back in 1998, made connections with people in the know, booked my flight, did something that put me ahead of the game to ensure things went smooth. I got my photo with HF, I got a one on one meeting, private conversation and i got my 2 autographs. It went fine for him and for me. I know this because of people in the loop/his management. It's not wishful thinking. Some people laughed at me for doing it, as it ran me about $450 for the trip. Now the same people who laughed then are calling me now wanting in on the action. Dude you got any of those Star Wars autographs.? As well as the people paying a grand for a send it. I was smart, ahead of the game. I didn't get a lunchbox signed, don't be silly, I got a scene cast photo signed (with Guinness) one of less than 10 known. Worth a lot personally and financially. Sure, I'll put myself in Harrison's shoes, but that includes his pants and the wallet in his back pocket. Yeah, I can handle it. Having to stop and scribble your name here and there isn't that big a deal when you have dynasty wealth. I did consider how he felt about things, its too much to get into, but he was going to bend a rule for me, and I gave another option and he said "THAT would be great, that would be even better". So he didn't have to break the rule. Yeah, "they are just people" Yeah they are, but we all have our childhood heroes. People like you say "I would never trouble so and so" Yeah, you wouldn't because you would never see them, Same type of person who will sit next to some 2nd string sports guy on a flight and tell stories about it forever. The kind of guy who would say "I would never trouble Stevie Nicks for an autograph" and then says "Oh my gosh look its Troy Dungan (local TV weather guy). and sprints across the room. There is someone you like you'd fan boy out if you met them.

Seeing these guys swarming around Harrison Ford like vultures, not giving him space or even privacy for that matter all for just an autograph, makes me so mad.

Maybe I’m being too cynical but I don’t think these autograph seekers are “fans” in the slightest. Why do you think they have so much material prepared? For them, it’s purely inventory and they sell these things. So, this is a business transaction, no genuine fans in sight, I think.

I don’t think these people have ANY real understanding of how ugly and sycophantic they really are. Imagine moving through the world and encountering them like this all the time… you’d grow to really resent the general public.

Man from Harrisons point of view I would have punched that guy filming this in the face. He interrupts him when he is speaking and already got 2 autographs so he should be happy and leave Harrison alone.
