To the people asking if this is about Harris's parents then No it isnt! This song isn't specifically dedicated to Harris's parents but to all parents in general! It's about how we can be trusted in our parents eyes but just asking for that little bit of space to develop on our own instead of having them make every single decision for us, to let us learn from our own mistakes, if that makes sense. Which I'm sure every teenager can relate to, hence why he sung it because he himself is a teen and what better way for a teen to sing a song that other teens can relate to.

My feeling is the same as you👆. I know in the of teenagers that we want to be free and being love with our family. but love to be free 😄. And I know some parents doesn't understand how teenagers feeling but that design that actually they love their kids but.
