    I really enjoy the no BS of this channel as well sharing your knowledge & know how. Back in the days of CCC Mag (RIP) I used to go straight to to 'Walkers Workshop' as my first read & your channel reminds me of that. I'm going to build rather than assemble a X/F fast road engine with a bit of confidence now after watching the X/F videos.

    Love your PINTO videos,build a few engines for people ,and it's nice to see from a professional if I actually know what I am doing and my own knowledge. I'm a lorry driver by trade and load on your estate occasionally. I might pop in if that's ok 👍. All the best Danny.

    Interesting point with rubber sump gasket I wonder if removing that little bit will work on Vauxhall as well 😊

    Brilliant,where was you in the 80's? We used to use a Lumenition ignition system eith thr plastic chopper,i ran 44 IDF downdraughts,didnt have that problem with dissy,all that work with heads i find fascinating,although rxpensive roller rockers be any better,i inow back then were very expensive items,i hop thats a nice can your putting in,i eould have to look up on kents list to see what cam lifts 500 thou,love your channel,look forward to the next video💯👍🏾

    Lots of interesting stuff in the video pal, why not use a after market light weight steel flywheel and a smaller diameter one if all the other measures you are going to for extra lift etc?

  • @PenguinMotors

    you cant use a small diameter flywheel with a road clutch ring gear and starter motor. The flywheel has been lightened but its easy to go too light and end up with something not very user friendly, the goal with the engine was to de tune it to make it more drivable but not loose all the power. the point of trying to maximise valve lift is to get the most from the cam without having to resort to a wilder one which would make it less drivable

    Would your secret modification mentioned in previous videos help achieve full lift

    Have you or will you be doing anything on the vauxhall red top engines? I would like to know what sort of power is achievable etc

    I’ve fixed a few but not tuned any personally. But I can tell you that a good one with decent inlet and exhaust they will scrape 200 bhp. Add mild cams they will go to around 220bhp, head work and hairy cams 240/250. In ultimate race tune they can exceed 300 bhp it all depends on why you want and how deep your pockets are

    @@PenguinMotors I thought the claims of huge bhp for little money were probably unrealistic

    Would be interesting to see how much loss of actual valve lift results in power loss. Would 15 thou cause a drop in power in the real world?

  • @PenguinMotors

    @PenguinMotors

    4 ай бұрын

    it all adds up, its not just 15 thou full lift, you loose lift right through the cams range, and you will reduce lift at TDC

    Can you say who makes OK pinto oil pump? So dont have to learn the hard way

  • @PenguinMotors

    If you want a good oil pump either look out for a new old stock genuine Ford one or get a Melling pump from the USA.
