    It's more of a 'hairdon'tcut' this one I think!

It's better to have the D7#9 before de DbMaj7 chord, it sounds way cooler!

@@LaurenceGuitar I chose their different model this time called 'poly web' instead of 'nano web'. Rounder tone, much better suited to where my playing is 'hopefully' heading. In other news, Tim Miller Trio 3 Transcription book released today, might have to make the purchase.

I am having trouble making some good phrases or at least resolving them in the scales how do you recommend I practice this?

Hi George, the best thing we can focus on when practicing scales is trying to highlight the harmony as it passes. Playing scales in 3rds and 4ths is a great way to begin to hear the family of chords which lives in each scale. For example, over a static C major chord you could play a nice harmonic sequence of E-7, A-7, D-7, G7, C. You could then substitute those chord to include some chromaticism over the same static chord. E-7, Eb7, D7, Db7, C just to name one example. Hope that helps, but think of scales as families of chords/arpeggios instead of a linear string. Finally, never simply run your scales up and down, force yourself to try and play them in a completely original order every single time you practice them. This will massively impact your knowledge of the scale, but also develop your creativity which should hopefully come out in your playing. My eBook has plenty of interesting phrases to get you started, feel free to contact me on ctharrisonmusic@gmail.com if you're not in a position to purchase it via my website and we'll get you sorted ;) Cheers!
