Harman Kardon TD 420 would be horizontall front loading drawer tray good looking auto reverse cassette deck! There's a small, but functional peak meter / LCD, you can chose between Dolby B, C HxPro noise reduction system, and use MPX filter if you're recording radio program.
It's not that simple cassette deck, besides recoding level you can also adjust bias while recording, sync with Harman Kardon CD player for easier CD duplication, and there's a real time digital counter. Deck looks good and sounds great for its class.

Love my (this) deck. Got 2 o' 'em! But the Sony HF is quite very poor, at least 4 this deck....😥😉 +3 dB is best 4 CrO2 & +5 dB is best 4 metal tapes in my opinion.

It's ok to record around 0 on Sony HF, as long as the noise is not noticeable...

@@cheapoldhifi Ok, but u have 2 b careful not 2 overmodulate it. So 0dB is quite ok, 4 CrO2 i always chose +3dB & 4 Metal +6 dB. But most of the time i`ve chosen CrO2 tapes, sometimes some Metal. 4 me the best amount 4 the money. Gr8 sound, the diff. 2 Metal isn`t really THAT huge in my opinion. But u have 2 b also careful, because the frequencies on Normal tapes fades away by time more quickly than on the other ones. Gtx
