Oluv is the man who introduced me to the Soundcore motion + and showed me how to tune it correctly. 3 years later and the Motion + is still my favorite speaker. Never had any issues with it. Thank you Oluv and looking forward to more audio-related content from you

Sounded great, but mine was defective within a couple of weeks. Got some distortion in the treble. Sent it back and.. uhh bought a pair of big Homepods instead. They sound amazing.. Just not portable.

Earfun Uboom L (0.43)... is for me the perfect working desk speaker! Using it since a few months for KZread, Teams-Meetings, Podcasts, Music etc. I have before the SoundCore Motion+ and Teufel Bamster Pro, both needed EQs. Bamster Pro is also with Eq way too boomy. I connected the speakers via Headphone-Jack, and no flaws with Uboom L. Motion+ made weird white noise. So my personal favorite is the Uboom L. Auto-Off is also switched off, when using Headphone-Jack, which make the usability way more comfortable. Also Headphone-Jack is on the back, Motion+ has it on the side.

The master is back after a long time great to see oluv sir uploading a video.

The Luna's pretty boomy. I use a pair of Uboom L's for my small portable system. Then my next size up, Minirig 2.2. Then next size up a pair of Aiwa Exos 9's. If there's a crowd I use a pair of Soundboks 2's. Probably overkill, but fun.

It is obvious that Harman/Kardon have placed an emphasis on bass in the new versions of their acoustics... For example, Go Play Mini (2) in comparison with the third version has clearly lost a lot in detail, but has become noticeably bassier. And this trend is depressing: first they removed the stereo effect (Luna mono speaker, like many modern) and AUX input (also almost disappeared in all modern models), and now the already small detail and airiness are lost =_=. All that remains is BASSSS. All that remains is to remember the past and interesting audio algorithms, like the one in the beautiful Denon DSB-100 (MaxxAudio from Waves), which I still use. Or make your own acoustics =). P.S. I’m extremely glad to see a new video on your channel again, Oluv!

Will you get the earfun free pro 3 ? Do you think they destroyed the sound completely or we might be able to save it with the EQ in the app ? Thanks for everything Oluv!

The HK Luna Portable must be running 2 Passive radiators (one at the back and one at the front). Hence, the booming Bass. The Earfun UBOOM L has its passive radiators sideways and it still has this warm Bass. It also sounds a bit bright than the HK, IMO. Good to have back, Oluv. It’s been a while

maybe you should get used to a more nautral sound representation. if you always eat your soup with too much salt you will need a while to et used to the taste without

@@Wuppie62 neutral remains neutral also for others who hear differently. and hearing with bass boosted all the time will never make you appreciate the sound how it was recorded. The older you get the more you will appreciate fairthul true sound in contrast to bass boosted droning junk.

There's the outdoor mode that does that with one press of a button.

I like the ubbom l I bought 2, my first one is slightly brighter than my 2nd one. I flashed a few of oluv's firmwares but the uboom still sound too bright for me on upper treble.

Can you compare your speakers to Sven speakers? I used this brand speakers (Sven C2-10) for computer and they were very good. But I don't know how good their bluetooth speakers are (PS-380, PS-390, PS-680 etc). And other question: how compare speakers portable vs stationary 2.1 system (MS-2050 etc) for the same price? For usage only at home with almost no need for portability, only bluetooth connectivity to smartphone or laptop.

I like the sound of both of theses speakers but the bass of the luna drowning out the mids and highs the uboom sounds more universal across the frequency range

I was missing your videos! Was waiting for the hello and welcome. Anyway, some interesting stuff has been launched, the JBL authentics caught my attention. About the video, both were probably recorded with the binaural microfone, both sound like are modulating a lot very quickly (possibly to save battery or since they arent o max volume) it kinda creates a sound character... Both have some frequency gaps that show a lot in this video some phase trickery. Earfun has the mids more linear with the voice area more pleasing, the other has a more party like, engaging sound to sound bigger than it looks, causing an wow factor, then later causing ear fatigue sooner. I would not be satisfied with none of the because of modulation wich i became very sensitive of in the latest years, quite glaring.

Earfun outdoor mode sounded the best for me. Luna has the mid bass almost single toned or single tuned 😂 character very annoying.

If you recently bought it you may have the updated firmware that Oluv didn’t have a part in making. I suggest manually updating it to the older firmware It’ll make a world of a difference.

The Harman Kardon Luna sounds better, I mean the range of sounds. The highs are thinner, more delicate. The bass is deeper. Earfun doesn't sound bad, but it sounds like it came from a well.

I mean. Headphones that you use would also vary, as well as real time/real life listening. I own an Uboom L with Oluv's Firmware. It sounds quite natural. Closer but more defined than Maxsound plus. I swear Luna isn't as defined as this one but Haven't heard it yet. I just assumed

I would be curious to hear the latest firmware version of the Uboom L as i think they would sound almost the same as Earfun tried to use their own tuning to add more bass but it affects the sound quality and not in a good way just like the HK. Thankfully got mine before the update.

I got mine with the newest firmware and was pretty underwhelmed first, so I installed Oluv's firmware, and I liked it far better. The difference between Oluv's tuning and the newest firmware is noticeable, but it's far less than what you hear in this video. It goes slightly in that direction. The bass is louder compared to Oluv's Uboom L firmware, but not nearly as boomy as the Luna in this video. Mids sound thinner and more artificial, but in a different way compared to the Luna. I don't remember the differences in treble, but overall, the speaker sounded just far less natural with the new firmware. Even though it was louder and with stronger bass, it sounded more like a small speaker, less real. On top, the volume scale is different with the new firmware. It's louder earlier, so you can't really listen at quiet levels well, and at high volume levels, there's not much change. I think that's done so people believe that the speaker gets louder because it's louder than the competition at 50% volume. And another difference: Outdoor mode is tuned for best sound in Oluv's firmware (more bass and treble), but for maximized battery life in the new firmware (less bass, more mids, so more loudness with less energy consumption). To sum up my impressions with the speakers: - HK Luna, my impression just from this video: overwhelming, but in a negative way: Nice treble, shy and distant mids, but the overly loud and resonant upper bass destroys everything - UBoom L, newest firmware: underwhelming, just one of many speakers that doesn't stand out in any way - UBoom L, Oluv's firmware: very nice, natural sound, pretty much on par with the B&O Beoplay A1 that I had before, with a bit less detail and upper/lower extensions, but more natural upper mids

Real talk. Today I got my new HK Luna. I played the song "Get Back" ( 02:14 ) on it, but it didn't have the crazy low-frequency rumble that Luna had in the video. Instead, it sounded really really closer to the original audio and the original audio shown in the video. No adjustments, no EQ, just for reference to everyone ^_^

powiem Ci ze trudna sytuacja wizerunkowo po dramie z Alanem. Nasz rodak na pewno ma wiedzę i wszystkie możliwe atrybuty do oceny sprzętu ale jednak uwikłał się w jakiś układ z firmą Earfun i promuje ten głośnik mimo że sam narzekał że jak go stroił każdy egzemplarz produkcyjny ktory dostawał inaczej brzmiał a finalnie ten głośnik został bardzo zjechany przez Alana Rossa. Dość dziwna sytuacja która nie wpływa na wiarygodność, a udowadnianie że sprzęt jakiegoś noname (pewnie ukrytego chińczyka) z siedzibą w Kaliforni jest lepszy niż firm ze 100 letnim doświadczeniem jest zastanawiające. Raz jest lepszy raz gorszy. Dobrze ze wrócił ale podchodzę niestety z dystansem

The highs are the only thing where both speakers were kind of close: Both okay imho. I was shocked by the Luna's awfully droning bass which killed the already lifeless mids a second time. I have the Uboom L, and I really like it (with Oluv's tuning). I only see two annoyances: I wish it had an EQ so I could reduce the bass a bit. If I use it in the bathroom, it's too bassy because of the room resonance. And it makes a loud sound when turning it on and off - I wish it was quieter and less obtrusive/more tasteful.

The HK Luna seem to be boost too much on 100-200Hz and also lack of clarity. Is it a drop on 900-1500hz? Or just only it was a mono speaker?

I have the same impression. Massive boost in upper bass, and reduced presence in the upper mids. I guess it's not because it's mono, sounds like it's really the frequency tuning. Although I trust Oluv's recording chain, I just can't believe that the upper bass of the HK Luna is so massively overpowering. Other recordings on KZread don't sound like that. Either the other recordings are just worse and don't reveal the problem, or the room that Oluv was recording in had a resonance there.

Been a long time Oluv 👍 Been happy with multiple libratone zipp2's and Minirig3 2.1 set up❤❤❤ but getting itchy bluetooth feet 😜 Minirig4 is finally on the horizon, so lookig forward to that release but the 4 doesnt appear to link with the 3 😢 I also hope the issues with the app are sorted for the 4 becuses minirig certainly didnt care about its stability on the 3!! 😡 Liking the sound of the luna. I already have a Harmon BT speaker and they've always sounded impressive and the Luna is no different 👍 Other BT speakers peaking my interest ate the Azatom Soul and the Loewe We.hear2....but there really aren't enought reviews for either 😢

Wow, I remember the days when HK meant something, other than Hell's Kitchen. It's unfortunate that HK and other companies that used to to distinguish themselves by clean, clear sound have given in to nonsensical trends, all dead set against natural sound. Instead they ought to rekindle that fire, aspiring to clarity of and faithfulness to the music as originally intended/recorded.

Well...to be honest, placing them inside in front of a wall that has a corner just increases their boomyness. I wonder how they sound outside of in the middle of the room like in your older videos.

they were actually recorded standing free but in a smaller room. You cannot aoid any boominess in small rooms, near walls etc, therefore any kind of boosted bbass like on the Luna will cause problems. still many seem to like this according to some comments here.

Hi Oluv, big fan of your videos. I have to say im very surprised you havent made any recent content on Devialet's offerings. Their smallest speaker the Devialet Mania can go down to 30Hz and is no bigger than a JBL Xtreme. Definitely worth checking out as they are leading the industry in sound quality by a substantial margin. Thanks!

Saw a video comparing the sound of HK Luna and JBL Flip6 (by Kulas Tech Show). The Luna sounded sort of boxy, but with a tight low end. Very different to what it sounds here. Flip6 was a lot boomier in comparison to Luna.

unfortunately its an example of "you cannot simply point any old mic at a speaker and expect an accurate recording". oluv has 5db greater dynamic range in his recording and captures far more bass depth. the Kulas Tech Show recording is a mess with lots of clipping and does not capture the bass correctly or fully thus flattering the mids or in other words skewing the balance of mids to bass. so simply put his recordings cannot capture the luna correctly unlike the oluv recording. Thats without even getting into how flat his recording chain is.

The Luna was groaning. Upper bass too boosted. The Tribit flow with latest firmware should be in the mix.

Years pass and still nothing compares to Helsinki in Boosted mode.

@@lukabosnjak3829 it's from his initial review? efp3 is about the same price and he recommended efp1 with his tuning, then efp2 with his tuning and now it will be even more trivial to tune via an app. anc on my efp2 makes one earbud last for 3 hours so update would be welcomed

Quite subjective but Earfun still has superior vocals reproduction. Luna is quite scratchy compared. Decent tho

Autsch! Der Luna hupt und dröhnt ja richtig schlimm rum im Bass! Erst dachte ich beim ersten Song, als der Gesang einsetzte: viel zu viel Bass, aber angenehme Mitten. Aber im Vergleich mit dem Original sind auch die Mitten nicht klar, sondern einfach nur ausgedünnt und schöngefärbt, was sie kraftlos macht. Einzig die Höhen sind okay. Der Uboom L ist nach wie vor die absolute Referenz in der Größe und macht alles deutlich besser - allerdings erst mit deinem Tuning, das ihn nebenbei auch generell praxistauglicher macht, nicht nur klangstärker! Wenn ich mir dazu den Preis ansehe, kann ich nur noch die Hände über dem Kopf zusammenschlagen! Der Luna kostet dreimal so viel wie der Uboom L? Und klingt nicht mal halb so gut? Also, wenn's unbedingt ein Markengerät mit schickem Design sein muss und zu viel Geld da ist, dann definitiv lieber zum B&O Beosound A1 greifen, der klingt wenigstens.

Deine Aussage ist totaler Quatsch man kann ein Video mit der Realität nicht Vergleichen weil die Aufnahmen nichts mit der echten klangqualität zutun hat bitte einmal die Lautsprecher in echt anhören bevor du ein freches Urteil raus haust bitte höre dir beide Lautsprecher in echt an danach kannst du deine Meinung und Aussage gerne mit uns teilen 🌞

@@Countrylovecocoa Ich glaube, Oluv weiß schon, wie man ordentlich aufnimmt. Und ich hab mit recht linearen Kopfhörern gehört (DT 880). Grundsätzlich geb ich dir recht, dass man sowas final nur wirklich live beurteilen kann. Aber der brachial überbetonte, dröhnende Bass beim Luna ist hier so eindeutig zu hören, das hat nichts mit der Aufnahmequalität zu tun. Ich habe übrigens den Uboom L und hatte den Beoplay A1, und das, was ich hier vom Uboom L höre, deckt sich mit dem, was ich in echt vom Speaker höre.

@@VeitLehmann Autsch! Da hat ja einer den Kopf schön tief im A... von Oluv stecken... böser böser Bass, lieber bei nem Mini-Lautsprecher nen dünnen, schmalen Klang wie aus Opas Tischradio....gelle? Je kleiner die Box, desto stärker muss der Bass dominieren, um wenigstens etwas Volumen vorzugeben. Das hier ist keine ausgewachsene Standbox... und selbst da täte der Loudness-Effekt wie er in den goldenen 70er Jahren noch völlig anerkannt war, selbst dem größten Lautsprecher gut, solange der Pegel eben gering ist... aber Hauptsache diesen pseudo-audiophilen Dreck von sich geben, auch wenn der Lautsprecher kaum größer als ein Brillenetui ist...

Mid bass anoying almost like single toned speaker, quite obtrusive.

Lunas bass is bloomed and muddy, and lacks any treble presence whatsoever. Uboom secures any easy win here IMO.

Der Hamann klingt klar überlegen, voller Bass und dadurch mehr Volumen und Größe... genau das, was ein Mini Bluetooth-Lautsprecher erreichen will.. für neutrales Klangbild sind ausgewachsene Standboxen zuständig. Und Olaf...einfach tief durchatmen wenn du das liest... bei Klang sind unsere Meinungen klar verschieden, ich mags mit fetten, voluminösung Bass und nicht Magerkost so wie du. Ansonsten - so verschieden sind wir zwei gar nicht, bin zwar ein paar wenige Jährchen älter, aber könnte ansonsten dein Verhaltensvorbild sein.... Stichwort impulsives ausrasten, Probleme mit zickigen Weibern, Einzelgänger und so... Also geh nicht gleich in die Decke mein Junge, ich lese die Antwort hier sowieso nicht, da Benachrichtigungen deaktiviert und so;)

Je crois qu'il n'y a pas un sourciller la EARFUN et beaucoup plus équilibré au niveau des bases des aiguë et médium que là LUNAde chez Harman qui a des bases qui étouffent tout je crois qu'ils ont raté leur coup côté design magnifique côté son c'est la cata après c'est une question de d'oreille et bien moi je préfère de loin la EARFUN

Yep! Had 3 pairs of earphones from them, all are broken within 1 pr 2 years
