This has been one of the most long-awaited reunions within our War Torn Pups Program. We first brought attention to Harley’s story back in May, and by late August, Harley was quarantined at JFK airport and being denied entry to America by the CDC.
With the support of the public and elected officials, we prevented Harley from being sent back to the Middle East when the CDC finally granted her admission to the U.S. In early October, we flew Harley to California where AJ and his wife Scarlett live, but AJ was unable to see Harley while in quarantine at the Fire Academy.
Today is a very special day for Paws of War, Staff Sergeant Amjad Kirrish and his wife Scarlett!
At Paws of War, we rescue, train, and place dogs to serve and provide independence to our United States military veterans who suffer the emotional effects of war. We work to provide independence to these military veterans. Most of our rescued dogs have been abandoned at shelters through no fault of their own.
